Stayed here for a few days with friends, and would absolutely return in future. The hotel is located in a small side street to Calle de Serrano in Salamanca district, which means but a few walking minutes to highend shopping areas as well as museums....More

This is a 4 star hotel in a great location. Rooms are a generous size bathrooms are comfortable and do the job. Close to all the tourist attractions and easy walk to some great restaurants. Highly recommended for value for money.
We loved the hotel and the location. We chose it for the garden but was extremely pleased with room size, location, and the warm and welcoming staff. The location was better than anticipated. Two blocks to Retiro Park, which was an amenity I didn't anticipate....More

Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of
opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.

Also, a car is not really necessary- almost anything you want to see and do is within walking distance (we are serious walkers). Besides if you are feeling lazy the cabs are reasonable. But a word of caution, the cab drivers will almost always tell you they know where you want to go- but they tend to lie, just to get the fare. We had a bad experience twice (Madrid and Barcelona). In Madrid getting to the correct location of the Hertz office near the train station and in Barcelona getting to the correct location in the port to get to our ship.
