This hotel is a boutique, formal hotel in a nice neighborhood of Madrid. A throw-back to the times when hotels were elegant and service was king. Incredibly accommodating and helpful staff. We highly recommend this hotel.

Pretty hotel in a great part of the city. Easy to walk to Prado, Musee Thyssen, etc but far enough away that your are out of the crowded city hustle. Very friendly staff in a lovely hotel. We would stay again!

The room is soothing and comfortable. Room windows overlook a gorgeous courtyard. The location is on a cool side street. The period buildings reminded us of the nicest upper east side areas in NYC. Plus a beautiful walk through parks and fountains, to the fantastic Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (or to the Prado if you prefer old school.) The morning orange juice...

We stayed here 3 nights in Madrid in November of 2016. After looking at many many hotels on trip advisor we decided on the Orfila and were not disappointed. The room was beautiful and big. Furniture in the room looked to antique or copies of classics. The room was clean. The staff was very helpful and always seemed happy to...

My husband and I /steve thomas arrived straight from airport on Friday am/our room was ready and the most gracious staff served us coffee/pastries in the bar while paperwork was completed. They then took us up to a lovely room and gifted us with a bottle of bubbly as we were celebrating our anniversary. There was also another bottle of...

An intimate spot, away from the commotion of the central city but still very convenient to center no shopping areas. The staff went unusually out of their way to be helpful. Dinner at the restaurant epwas spectacular.

This hotel was worth the stay. The room was spacious the staff went above and beyond. We extended our stay an extra day just because they treated us with the utmost respect. I'd choose this hotel again and again. Worth the price for sure.

I love this hotel. Yes, it is an old building, and the rooms are not as big, but the service is amazing. The staff are ever so helpful and efficient (they all seem to enjoy their work very much). Breakfast quality is top notch. I would very much love to stay here again.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The small XIX century palace was transformed into a hotel in 1999, respecting the majestic style of the era, at the same time as installing all the appropriate commodities for a luxuorious establishment from the end of the nineteenth century. Only a year after it opened, the hotel joined the Relais Chateaux Chain of hotels, a group of the most prestigious hotels in the world. The hotels belonging to the Relais Chateaux must have 4 or 5 stars and less than 100 rooms, and be outstanding their strict respect for the five concepts that define the philosophy of this hotel chain: character, courtesy, charm and cuisine. ... more   less
