Stayed for business, room on top floor and thought this might mean i was spared the pre-renovation rooms. Alas no. Very very dated, even a Corby trouser press to add to 70s feel and ancient hair dryer in bathroom. Couldn't fault service of staff but hotel just needs a revamp for the price and expectations.

There are two distinct parts to this hotel located in the prime location of C/ Castellana (near the Bernabeu Stadium - if you are into football). This was a 5* hotel in the 80's, maybe early 90's but now needs a massive renovation of the bedrooms and common parts. Our room had threadbare carpets, curtain and a shower curtain from...

Not a bad hotel but I've stayed in hotels all over the world and never come across a twenty euro pool charge before. Five euros fifty for a diet coke was a bit steep too. That said, the breakfast was nice and the place conveniently located. Not a five star hotel in. My view

Dear guest Thank you for your review in Tripadvisor about Hotel Occidental Miguel Angel. The pool is a part of hydrotherapy service, like the sauna or thermal service. Our fitness center is complimentary service for guest of the hotel; but Spa Caroly Health Club is an aditional service, like the restaurant. We offer an special rate for our guest, 20€...

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the end of an Insight tour. The hotel is a reasonable 4*. It does the job of providing a clean, if a bit small, room and comfortable bed, and the hotel has all the usual facilities. It has a good gym, but it doesn't open until 7:00am, which is late for businees...

After reading recent reviews on tripadvisor I was a little worried about what to expect at this hotel. I was relieved when entering our rooms there was wooden flooring and firm matresses. We obviously benefited from the updated rooms, the carpet in the hallway had seen better days but other than that hotel was beautiful. We were allowed in our...

Good location, if you want to go to a football game of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, between the stadion and downtown. The room we had was quite dark and small (to the courtyard), but at least quiet. Apparently the hotel is undergoing renovations but the lobby and my room may not have been done yet as they still look dated and tired. Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
