The location is great. Very near to 2 metros (Tribunal and Grand Via). It is very neat and tidy. The staffs were very friendly.I took a 3 bed - room but only 1 person stayed in it. I felt the room was a bit too small for 3 people. There are a lot of eatery choices near to the hotel.

The location is good in Hortaleza, the street is a good place to stay in. It is very affordable for the service you get: rooms and toilets are cleaned everyday, and the staff is friendly. A cozy place to stay in.

I have stayed at Hispano many times now and would not want to stay anywhere else while in Madrid. Paquita (the owner) is a charming lady who takes great pride in her business and runs a pretty tight ship! Maria (second in command) is a complete doll and has excellent English skills. Sure it isn't like American hotels with sprawling...

Everything ok. Old but clean. I stayed for only one night in a minuscule single room, but was satisfied because got what i espected, and the elderly gentleman ( the owner I presume) was very nice and helpful. I don't know if they speak much English in the hostel, because I've taken the trouble to learn Spanish in order to...

You get what you pay for and that's about it. Ever seen the film Hostel? I thought that's what this was as we walked up the old wooden staircase surrounding the ancient lift. The rooms were small, the bathroom was tiny. If i were you i'd pay that bit extra

My first experience in hostel turned out to be nothing short of superb. Very well taken care of. To be very honest, there is nothing negative about this property. A special word of gratitude to Maria who is in charge of the property. Too good.

We stayed for two nights at this hostel. I have to admit that we were quite put off by the entrance of the hostel- it was a bit grungy looking and we had no clue how to get in. Apparently, you get on the elevator (which was an experience in itself, as it was quite vintage) and get yourself to...

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
