We stayed in a queen room in Aug 2022. Room is spacious and clean with wonderful views of Real Palace. Location is good as it is within walking distance to most places of interest and restaurants and eateries. The room is spacious and the toilet well lit with good water pressure.

Hotel is located on Plaza Orient, just above the Plaza Orient Cafe. So do expect some noise during day time when the cafe is in operation. We were not bothered as the wooden windows nicely blocked out the noise and light.

Do note that this is NOT a hotel with proper lobby. The reception is located on the first floor (some flights of steps) and we were given a room on the second floor (more steps). There is an elevator but there are still some steps to negotiate from the elevator to the front entrance.

The steps did not bothered us. In fact, we were intrigued to stay in a place which is located in an old building. We also encountered good service from the staff.

This is a small hotel with about 30 rooms. It faces the Royal Palace in Plaza de Oriente. When hailing taxis, don't bother with the name of the hotel, just tell them "Plaza de Oriente".
We had a large room with a small balcony facing the Royal Palace. The room was clean, bed was comfy. Bathroom with shower was okay. Front desk was accommodating, quickly bringing an extra luggage rack and softer pillows. The chairs in the room had fabric that was somewhat stained.
For breakfast we went to San Gines Chocolateria for their famous churros with hot chocolate, a 7 minute walk. Lots of places to eat. Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor all within walking distance. The Prado is about a half-hour walk. Location can't be beat.
Front desk helpful with recommendations and scheduling taxi pickups.

We stayed here twice at the beginning and end of a trip to Spain. The rooms as simple, but clean and well appointed . The location is great on Plaza de Oriente directly across from Central Palace, which is great. What made it a great stay was the service. The team on site made good recommendations and when I got sick during our stay (nothing to do wit hotel), was really kind and helpful. It's on a plaza so there is some noise, but the restaurants below close up, so if you are keeping Madrid hours (late dinners and slower mornings) it works out fine. I'm a light sleeper and benefitted from ear plugs when turning in early.

Directly across from the Royal Palace, Pension Central Palace has a great location. Our room was large and spacious with a beautiful view of the palace. This is not a 5 star hotel but the building itself has character with wooden floors and what looked to be original staircase railings. No breakfast was provided however there was coffee and tea in the room. We found it to be a bit difficult to find as the sign with the name of the hotel was very small. Maybe that is a rule since it's in a historic building. The reception area was also hard to find as it's up a floor in a hallway where you would expect rooms to be. There were not any signs or directions explaining the way. It looked like they were doing some remodeling so maybe it will be fixed soon. Even so, an explanation with directions would have been appreciated so we weren't so confused upon entering. There is an elevator in the building which is helpful. The staff were nice and helpful when they were there but they would leave every day around siesta and would lock the front door. The guests had a key to that door but I'm not sure what one would've done if they had arrived during that time. Again, a message when booking would be considerate. There was some night time noise as would be expected in this location but the double windows did a good job of blocking it out. For toiletries there was only shampoo and body wash. No hair conditioner or body lotion was offered. All in all it was a comfortable room and we would stay there again.

Beautiful property with an excellent staff! The location is perfect for walking to enjoy the city. Check in was a breeze and the front desk provided maps and ideas for dining, shopping, and sightseeing. The views are breathtaking of the Palace, and the best food in the city are within a short walk. I highly recommend this property and hope to stay there in the future.

Very good hostal 100 m from plaza del sol right in madrid. Walking distance to most sights. Metro to the airport. The hostal is of very good quality compared with other hostals in madrid. Comparable with 3 star hotel. I did not try the breakfast but there are many cafés close (Starbucks 30 meters away from the hostal).

Great location and super helpful staff. We only had a couple of nights in Madrid and the receptionists recommendations for food and what to see were fantastic and helped us make the most of our limited time. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed this hotel for two nights. It is in a great location; across from the palace and walking distance from just about everything. The staff was great. We arrived in the morning, and they held our luggage, so that we could explore. They even set up a couple taxi rides for us. Breakfast is not included, but there is s cafe/bakery just around the corner. The room was big and it included a refrigerator microwave, and coffee. I would stay in this hotel again.

We moved from next door- The Oriente Palace apartments for an extra few nights stay. This is a sister hotel and whilst similar in design and decor, offers much better value. It's in the same historical building and isn't a hostel as the name would imply. If we were to visit again I would choose this one over the Oriente Palace Apartments as they offer the same view, a bigger bathroom, the same super helpful service, and just 20m next door.

Great location, close to restaurants and bars, friendly helpful staff. We had a wonderful room with complimentary water and a small bottle of cava in the small fridge. We also had a great deal of booking.com which was a bonus. Would highly recommend 😀

No need to pre-book the taxi. Plenty of taxis at the airport. Count with around 40 euros. By metro is very easy: take line 8 till Nuevos Ministérios/ change to line 10 direction Puerta Sur and exit in Princípe Pio. At this station take the small train to Opera. Get out, hotel will be in 3 minutes. This journey takes about 35/40 min. Of course if you are a family (around 4 persons) is better the taxi.

It's all been said by the others. It's a great place to stay, and all of the "disadvantages" (no dining room, meals, breakfasts) are actually advantages because it enables you to explore - it's in a great area, with some super restaurants around, the views are lovely from the balconies, chocolate and churro, tapas, the Opera, it's all there! We'll definitely be going back!

Dear Staff Is a breakfast available through the hotel once we arrive and how much is it please.

Hi. We stayed there a week or so ago. You can buy a voucher for about €3 for a light breakfast in the very nice restaurant next door - it's only a light breakfast, but it suited us well. Alternatively, you can buy the necessary in the local shops and take to the room, find a cafe locally, or (my favourite!) chocolate & churros in San Gines (hardly a calorie in it 😉). You'll love any of these - we did!
