We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff, upon check-in were friendly and helpful. Although we walked nearly everywhere, the Opera metro station is nearby and convenient. We would likely stay again.
Directly across from the Royal Palace, Pension Central Palace has a great location. Our room was large and spacious with a beautiful view of the palace. This is not a 5 star hotel but the building itself has character with wooden floors and what looked to be original staircase railings. No breakfast was provided however there was coffee and tea in the room. We found it to be a bit difficult to find as the sign with the name of the hotel was very small. Maybe that is a rule since it's in a historic building. The reception area was also hard to find as it's up a floor in a hallway where you would expect rooms to be. There were not any signs or directions explaining the way. It looked like they were doing some remodeling so maybe it will be fixed soon. Even so, an explanation with directions would have been appreciated so we weren't so confused upon entering. There is an elevator in the building which is helpful. The staff were nice and helpful when they were there but they would leave every day around siesta and would lock the front door. The guests had a key to that door but I'm not sure what one would've done if they had arrived during that time. Again, a message when booking would be considerate. There was some night time noise as would be expected in this location but the double windows did a good job of blocking it out. For toiletries there was only shampoo and body wash. No hair conditioner or body lotion was offered. All in all it was a comfortable room and we would stay there again.…
Great location and super helpful staff. We only had a couple of nights in Madrid and the receptionists recommendations for food and what to see were fantastic and helped us make the most of our limited time. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
We stayed in a queen room in Aug 2022. Room is spacious and clean with wonderful views of Real Palace. Location is good as it is within walking distance to most places of interest and restaurants and eateries. The room is spacious and the toilet well lit with good water pressure. Hotel is located on Plaza Orient, just above the Plaza Orient Cafe. So do expect some noise during day time when the cafe is in operation. We were not bothered as the wooden windows nicely blocked out the noise and light. Do note that this is NOT a hotel with proper lobby. The reception is located on the first floor (some flights of steps) and we were given a room on the second floor (more steps). There is an elevator but there are still some steps to negotiate from the elevator to the front entrance. The steps did not bothered us. In fact, we were intrigued to stay in a place which is located in an old building. We also encountered good service from the staff.…
We stayed here twice at the beginning and end of a trip to Spain. The rooms as simple, but clean and well appointed . The location is great on Plaza de Oriente directly across from Central Palace, which is great. What made it a great stay was the service. The team on site made good recommendations and when I got sick during our stay (nothing to do wit hotel), was really kind and helpful. It's on a plaza so there is some noise, but the restaurants below close up, so if you are keeping Madrid hours (late dinners and slower mornings) it works out fine. I'm a light sleeper and benefitted from ear plugs when turning in early.
I booked a room at this hotel in Madrid for 2 nights, and though I am aged 62, they gave me a room that had a vertical staircase to a loft bathroom! Every climb and descent was death defying. The room pictured in the ad looked NOTHING like that! When I complained I was told the description was in my confirmation, but I saw no such thing. Furthermore, everything in the room was either broken or in a state of disrepair, even the clock on the wall. To top everything off, a male hotel employee used a ley to enter the room while I was in it! The owner apparently decided to rent a substandard, dangerous room without care for the safety or comfort of his paying customer. I would NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!
Booked a room for June 23rd 2019 through booking.com. Then COVID came along and the whole holiday, which this day was part of, was cancelled. We received an e-mail from Hostel Central Palace-Madrid saying that because Spain was locked down that our reservation was cancelled. Ok. We get this and understood. But what we didn’t expect was our card to be charged nonetheless after we didn’t show up on the date THEY CANCELLED because their country was locked down, as was ours. So basically they STOLE our money. And they will not refund it. Be careful booking here everyone, because if COVID causes your holiday to be cancelled these people will rob you mercilessly. We have been in touch with booking.com and they have tried several times to contact this “hotel”, but all communication has been ignored. We spoke directly to the hotel who flat out refused to refund. Be warned, this place could make your holiday tricky.…
Very good hostal 100 m from plaza del sol right in madrid. Walking distance to most sights. Metro to the airport. The hostal is of very good quality compared with other hostals in madrid. Comparable with 3 star hotel. I did not try the breakfast but there are many cafés close (Starbucks 30 meters away from the hostal).
The room was really clean! Amazing value for money! In the best location, near to everything. Lovely wee cafe next door for breakfast. Receptionists so helpful, providing us with a map and circling all the best places to go. :)
I loved my small and comfortable room in Madrid. Right next to the royal palace, very conveniently located. And fair price. Staff at reception very friendly. Reception located on 1st floor. Building consists of 5 floors, has a working elevator. Some residents live there and other apts for short rental.
