I stayed here one night and really liked it. Good location close to the Royal Palace and Sol Plaza. Javier was super helpful. Security is good and you can leave your key at the front desk so you don't have to worry about losing it. Didn't use it but kitchen looked good. Hostel was very clean. Would stay again.

It is right across from the catherderal and the palace. The hostel was very clean, and the had tours and offered activities to do in Madrid. The beds were comfy and the lockers were safe, each bed had its own locker enough to fit a travel size hand luggage. There is a kitchen

I stayed here for 4 nights last week and was very satisfied with my stay! The hostel is extremely clean, and most of the staff are very sweet/helpful (I say most because one member of staff was unnecessarily blunt and rude to me on two occasions). If you're wanting to meet lots of people and party a bit (or a...

When a hostel is so cheap and still so central, there's usually something wrong. But not with this one, everything was great: bathrooms that were cleaned several times per day, nice rooms with comfortable beds and staff who love their job.

Recently travelled to Madrid as part of a large group, and it was my first time staying in a hostel. As there was over 30 of us, it made sense to do so. Whilst the rooms were pretty small, they were clean, and it served as a decent base to get your head down at night, or pop back to...

I stayed at MeetingPoint in spring this year for about a week and I had a great time there. Staff is super friendly and the location is fabulous. The rooms and common areas were cleaned every day and to me the price - quality balance was really good!

Some rooms are quite small, and some mattresses are very thin. The biggest problem was the noise from outside, I know there is nothing the staff can do about this, but thought it was worth mentioning. Large groups would congregate right under the windows on steps that led to the park and play loud music until 3am. This hostel isn't...

There aren't many positives about this place. My biggest qualm was with the staff. When they weren't trying to rip you off they were hitting on you. They also made you feel like an inconvenience for existing. The cleanliness was questionable as was the location. Wouldn't recommend to a friend unless they were desperate. Also not the best place to...

We have not idea about what are you talking about. In fact, we believe that you never have stayed in this hostel, from the beginning to the end what you say is meaningless, much more when we are located just facing the Almudena Cathedral and Royal Palace. No more comments about the rest...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
