I stayed here for 2 nights in a double bed private with shared bathroom. Accommodation very cheap and frankly I understood why it was so convenient. The location is great, just 200 meters from the nearest subway and I live in a neighborhood full of pubs and restaurants. The hostel is huge it's in about 2-3 floors, although overlooked because...

Typical hostel. Wish there wasnt quite so many travelers cramped into the room but as we werent in the room long it wasnt that big of a deal. Had a kitchen which we could use which was nice. Also has lockers for luggage. Helpful front desk.

This hostel has a very good and homey atmosphere, they make dinner for 1-2 euro for whoever wants. the staff is helpful and considerate. The down side to this place is that the rooms are very small and there is no ac, it's not really in the center of the city but it's close (5 min walk) to the metro. Also...

Had a great time here, as I spent three nights while on a trip through Spain. The staff were helpful, wifi was convenient and the location was very cool. I would definitely love to stay in this part of Madrid again, as it is near any major spots and a pretty nice area to walk through on your way in...

Unfortunately - no elevator :( Noisy at night because there are clubs and bars next to the hostel. WiFi is available in the rooms. Bathroom is inside the room, which made floor very wet, has been problems with leakage from the shower. Window opened into the courtyard and could not leave open to let fresh air in when you were...

There isn't much of a community area for guests to socialize. There is a kitchen with a giant table that is kind of nice to talk to others, but the other areas are just a computer room and some couches in reception. Free internet and wifi though! That's a big plus! Besides that, great prices, friendly people, and very recommended!

Great hostel in Madrid, right next to the metro station. They have free food every night, from the traditional spanish to the most different ones. Malasana street has everything you need for a couple days in Madrid. I stayed in the private room, with my girlfriend and we have no complains. We even had our clothes cleaned for a very...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.

“I would recommend upgrading to the 2 bed dorm. Only 2 dollars extra. This was not available as an online booking option if you are traveling alone (via HostelWorld).”
