We just completed 4 nights stay here with breakfast. Everything was perfect. The staff were helpful and attentive. The location is superb, everywhere within walking distance but yet you didn't feel right on a noisy city street. I would not hesitate to book here again for a trip in Madrid. My other half was turning 40 which is why we...

Very cramped family room with no room to swing a mouse let alone a cat and at night the green, so called emergency light, that glowed ALL night keeping us all awake was more than ridiculous and annoying. No plug in the sink, ripped wallpaper, no plug in the sink and a leaking shower......... The staff were helpful and the...

The hotel is located few meters from Gran Via and few blocks from Puerta del Sol. It's a great location for shopping or just sightseeing downtown. The romms are nicely insulated from the noise of Gran Via, the personnel is very welcoming and breakfast is decent. The only downside is the bathroom which is made of glass partitions and glass...

Hotel is well located off the Gran Via and Chueca area. Friendly staff with big smiles and very helpful. Good sized rooms with a modern touch. Shower was very good with strong water pressure. Building itself is very nice with some original features. Room is very clean and had a lovely small veranda that gives you a great view of...

We stayed in Palace Ducal for three days and it was an excellent choice. The location is great and the rooms are in a very good conditions. You can reach any place in Madrid with just a short walk and the Metro is just 50 meters away. The service from the employees in the front desk was great.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here, primarily for location as it's incredibly central and 5 mins walk from our friends apartment. We arrived in our room to find a bottle of cava on ice (amazing!), some sweets and chocolates, 2 plastic champagne flutes filled with the grapes that one eats on every strike of midnight to welcome...

This is not the typical city hotel. The employees are really nice, the rooms are quiet and relaxing. The perfect place for a two or three days in Madrid, in a romantic visit or a business trip. Close to city transportation system.

This hotel stands in a great location; one can forget the metro station and go in most "must see" locations, such as Prado, Reina Sofia museum, the Sol square etc. on foot. Breakfast is nice (except from the coffee) and the staff is really helpful and kind. The only problem I can spot is the door of the bathroom in...

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
