This hotel was well located in the city central and was clean and well priced, but the particular street it was on was very seedy with prostitutes standing on the corner one block away. When leaving the lobby on the morning of our departure, my purse was stolen right inside the hotel. After the fact, I realized the desk clerk...

Dear Guest, thank you for your feedback but sorry for the delay getting back to you (a new management Team just arrived to the Hotel). Really sorry about your experience. We don´t think it is an unsafe street but Madrid, like othet big capitals in the world, suffers from this from time to time. Again, really sorry. Best regards from...

We stayed at Siete Islas Hotel in December 2010. The location is perfect, just 50 m. from Gran Via, 70 m. from Gran Via metro station. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is ok.

The standard, somewhat dated furnishings will not blow you away. Still, the hotel is clean and comfortable enough for one right smack in the centre of a big city. We picked this hotel for its proximity to Gran Via, a main shopping street. This could be either a draw or drawback depending on how important it is for you to...

We had high expectations for enjoying our stay at this hotel, and we are pleased to say that our expectations were met. The location is excellent, a very short walk to Gran Via metro station, and also easy walking distance to the popular Chueca district. The room was comfortable, clean, and there was plenty of room for our luggage and...

Visited Madrid on my way to Morocco. Hotel lists itself as 4 stars. The lobby is shabby. the rooms small and very ordinary. bathrooms are a good size. definately a lower 3 star option. Wifi did not work and the hotel staff were completely indifferent if not downright unhelpful. The breakfast room was absolutely depressing, windowless basement and the selection...

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the penthouse suites. The room was beautiful and spacious. Our huge private balcony overlooked the city. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was deluxe with its own incredible view out the window. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We booked this hotel based on recommendations that I found here on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The hotel is a very quick walk (about 2 blocks at most) from the Grand Via Metro stop and is within easy walking distance of a lot of things including Chueka, the trendy up and coming gay district. I have to admit...

We stayed at the hotel for a long-weekend and were very pleased with our stay. The hotel may not correspond to Western European 4 star standards, but the room was spacious and had a well maintained bathroom with everything you need. The design is all a bit old-fashioned and the breakfast room was also outdated. But if you don't insist...

Each floor, if I remember correctly, is named after one of the 7 islands of the Canaries. Beautiful woods adorn doors, closets, etc. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. The room was cozy but comfortable, quiet with a nice marble bathroom including bidet and minibar. Breakfast was more than adequate--cake , pastry or meats, eggs, fruit? N. America should...

We stayed here for 6 nights and were very pleased. The location is great as it is only maybe a 1 minute walk to Gran Via. The Gran Via Metro stop is located right at the end of the block too. Not that you need to use it really though since everything is within walking distance. Peurta del Sol is...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
