I stayed in this hostel because of it's location and also whilst searching where to stay, this is the most decent looking hostel around the centre, in my opinion. It was easy to find as it's close to tribunal station, upon arrival, the hostel does not have a proper entrance, it's located on the 1st floor of an apartment so...

I stayed here for 3 nights in the end of January 2017 in a small economy room. For the price i paid the room was adequate, although small it was sufficient for one person. Location was great, right in the centre of all the restaurants and bars however, because it is right in the centre of things it is extremely...

I have stayed here twice. Both visits went well with clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent bathroom and shower. The location is great for eating, shopping and drinking with tapas. I walked to the major galleries most days. The double room I stayed in was excellent, a bit noisy on Saturday night, but it had a balcony above the street. Quiet...

Highly recommended. There's no restaurant, bar, or anything like that, but the rooms are great, the service is efficient, the location is fantastic, and the price is right. Will definitely stay here again.

Malasana is one of the best area of the city, really close to everything (shops and the city centre), full of beautiful people and places where to hangout, have some...

Arriving at the hostel it was odd, the hostel is on the first floor of an apartment block with no proper reception desk. Myself and my sister (two young girls) were given a room right next to the entrance. Baring in mind, neither of the front doors were locked/manned leaving us very unsafe as anybody could have walked in and...

Great place. Nice hostel in the heart of the Malasaña neighborhood, full of cafes, restaurants, and stores. Close to the metro, our room was really clean and the fact that we had our own bathroom was great. perfect size for the two of us. The people at the front desk were really nice and helpful, they even keep our luggage...

Check in was simple, quick and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was small, but for the money paid appeared to be of good simple standard, however it could have done with better ventilation. Returning to my room during the early hours to sleep I spotted at least 2 cockroaches in my room. I reported this to reception...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
