We stayed here for the weekend of the Madrid Rock and Roll Marathon event. The hotel situated not far from the start line 200 m from the Banco de Espana metro station, it was in the perfect location. Down a small street with a great bakery and bars nearby. We never had any trouble with noise, very comfortable beds and...

Very friendly, helpful and attentive staff at reception. The hotel was well located close to trendy bars, good shopping, the metro and train stations and also the key museums - Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen, Museo Romántico, Museo di Historia and the Retiro park. The rates were excellent for the location although a bit expensive at week-ends. Good value all round.

We've stayed in this hotel several times. It's right on the edge of Chueca, very close to Gran Via. Transportation from the airport is easy, with the Airport bus stopping at Plaza Cibeles; from there, it's a 5 minute walk. The staff all speak fluent English and go out of their way to be helpful. The lobby is hung with...

The hotel was on a small street that was quite noisy until about 4am and the windows and drapes did not keep out the noise. Our room was small and in need of some renovations. The shutters were not operable, the beds felt like cots and the bed coverlets needed replacement. The adequate bath was fair size with one sink,...

I stayed at this hotel at a Saturday night, very well located, with excellent reception service by Catarina. The rooms are quite old fashioned, with huge bathroom, but needing a refreshment. The noise of the street passes to the rooms.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Lusso Infantas. Must give out a shoutout to Paula at the reception. Her cheerful and helpful demeanor was so welcoming after a long flight and an arduous climb up Gran Via from Cibeles Square. It would have been shorter had we not overshoot it by walking up an additional 4 blocks...

Dear guest, First of all we want to thank you for the rate you have given to the hotel, we appreciate it. The hotel is located in a quiet area of Chueca District one of the most fashionable areas in Madrid. From here you can walk everywhere without any transportation. We booked this place after seeing some good reviews and realizing the location is nice. We are on our honeymoon. Even after mentioning it in the reservation, we got a twin beds room. This pretty much can sum it all. Quite the opposite of what we've expected. But there's more. There is no fresh air in the rooms. There are...

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
