The studio was amazing, well furnished and decorated. The kitchen was 100% equipped and bathroom extremely clean. Besides this, it's location is outstanding: right in downtown near most tourist attractions. I'd totally stay there again. Cheers,

We were already booked in here and on our way when I read a very unhappy review that, to be honest, worried me a lot. When we arrived all was well. Our booking was fine, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and so was everywhere else we looked. The location is great, the accommodation... More

Where to start? The good: has wifi in the rooms, tiny amount in the kitchen. Hostel was quiet, only saw 5 people there across 5 days, which was strange (and you'll see why if you keep reading). Lockers with keys in each room. A/c and double glaze Windows, as the city noise is loud if the windows are open. The... More

The hostel in general is okay, clean, well located and quiet. The staff were not really welcoming, not much interest into showing a fun Madrid. So, if you're looking for a place to make friends and full of activities, do not stay at this hostel. If you're looking for a quiet place and not really planning to meet other travellers,... More

In the heart of Madrid on the 7th floor looking down on the main street. The location can be hard to find using Google maps, as you have to enter through another hotel entrance to find the elevator that takes you to the correct floor. Very cheap for Europe, complementary breads and juice for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We booked at Mucho as we needed one night between travel and the entire city was booked up due to a few large conventions in town. Now I'm not a big Hostel person at 53. Been there, done that. BUT Mucho Madrid reminded me that there are some fantastic Hostels out there and that I should never count them out... More

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
