Wonderful stay here, nice room if a little small but lovely big bathroom. Secure parking available, expensive but worth it for peace of mind. The hotel is extremely well located for sight seeing and a walk out to all of the restaurants, very busy on a Saturday night. We did some good people watching too ! Did not try the...

This 4* hotel is close to the city centre & Puerta del Sol (around 20 minutes walk) and is less than ten minutes walk to the western entrance of Parque del Retiro. The nearest station is Atocha and this is a great station to be located near if you're travelling inter-city to other areas of Spain. The hotel itself was...

Though perhaps somewhat devoid of personal atmosphere, the Husa Paseo del Arte is a pleasant and excellent hotel. Rooms are large and very well equiped. Service is fine. The hotel is situated on Calle d’ Atocha, at perhaps two hunderd meters from Paseo del Prado, the museum itself being about a mile away. From Atocha Station there is a regular...

Very nice hotel, clean and good service. Very close to main touristic places. However, just a shower available in the standard room.

The hotel itself is nice, good decor, comfortable. The room I was pleasure to stay in was on the 1st floor facing another building. If you need a quiet room to sleep, ask for rooms on upper floors, as I could hear screaming teenagers all night on Saturday. There is Mcdonalds restaurant next door which attracts masses of young people...

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights to alleviate the jet lag, walk around and look at some art before flying to Morocco. We chose this hotel because of its location, so close to the Prado Museum, the TA reviews and the price. It is basically a business hotel, clean and modern with an uncluttered and welcoming lobby. When...

I didn't stay overnight at this hotel, but I did have a meeting here with a private dinner. Although the meeting room was a little tired, we had a private dinner in an atrium next to the main resataurant and I was very impressed by the quality of the food and service. The hotel has a nice bar/cafe in the...

This was our second stay at the Paseo del Arte (the last one was five years ago) and we can't say we've regretted it, despite a very unpleasant receptionist at check-in who resembled a moody Blackpool B&B owner from the 1950s and who treated my partner (the booking was in his name) with a mixture of blase' and ice cold...

Very nice hotel, only a few minutes walk from the main train station Atocha. Metro is across the street, Le Preda Museum is only a few minutes walk away. The hotel is very new looking, exactly what you expect from a 4 star hotel. Front desk staff was very nice, gave us a nice map of Madrid at check in....

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
