Upon arriving, David checked us in, gave us maps and told us to visit the El Rastro fleamarket on sunday and have drinks in the area. The deluxe room was fantastic, modern and spacious. There is a desk area, a sofa and a big bed in the main part of the room. Behind this lay the wardrobe, toilet and (fabulous)...

Good room. Good location. Pleasant and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Only down points for us were the badly designed taps in the bathroom

hey, we stayed at Oscar hotel in Madrid last weekend. The location is good, the attitude of the reception staff good too but,,,, BE AWARE THAT IF YOU GET A ROOM ON THE 1ST FLOOR YOUR SLEEP WILL GET DISTURBED UNTIL 3AM BY THE MUSIC COMING FROM THE HOTEL'S PUB!!! I just coudl not believe it!!! I had to call...

This hotel is located in Chueca which is a dynamic, cool and happening neigherhood. Note however that if you are a conservative believer of pretty much any religion you should probably go somewhere else as Chueca is also the gay barrio of Madrid. Pros were definitely the location with good restaurants (Momo, El Original), bars and hip boutiques. The hotel...

We spent 3 nights at a standard room in this hotel. The room was small, but its design with lots of glass was really impressive. The only disadvantage could be a small window overlooking a wall, but we didn't really spend much time in the room as Madrid has so much to offer day and night. Overall the hotel is...

Loved the style of Room Mate Oscar, a very dramatic building and a very dramatic entrance. Our room - upgraded to a junior suite - was fun with long, curling sofas which were part of the bedhead. Not ideal if you had been seeking to work but perfect as a place to lounge. We found breakfast room light with a...

This hotel is very much design-led, so some people may find it a bit loud decor-wise, but I thought it was very stylish and obviously a lot of thought had gone into the way it looked. The rooms were quite large and nicely furnished. The staff were extremely helpful and the whole hotel has a sort of clubber's vibe, with...

The Good News: - The hotel is a in a great spot - just north of the Grand Via in a very lively part of town - Chueca - overflowing with great cafes, bars, restaurants, independent shops etc. The hotel is smart, clean and well-equipped. The Bad News: - The dining room decor is like a nightclub - not what...

I stayed only for one night and that was the only regret. I got a spacious junior suite and they even let me choose the color theme of the room at check in. Rooms are clean and smartly appointed. Everyting is in perfect order: from the wireless internet connection to the high wather pressure in the shower. Breakfast room is...

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
