The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. I do not speak Spanish and their help was greatly appreciated, and happily given. My room was done in vibrant green and very modern, and it was large, and very comfortable. The location was perfect. I walked hours each day and enjoyed it every time. Lots of bars, restaurants very...

My parents stayed at Oscar and they were delighted with the hotel. They especially liked the design, the location and the general state of the hotel and the quality of services. Highly recommended, especially if you wish to be at the center of Madrid life.

Overall I thought the hotel was very good, mainly due to the location. rooms were okay, quite small, but adequate. you might want to be very comfortable with the person you travel with as you can see into the toilet bathroom through glass which in my case was just behind the bed. breakfast is adequate service on checkin was excellent...

This funky hotel is a welcome change from the boring. Staff are friendly. Rooms modern but basic. Rooftop bar/pool popular & well worth the venture up at dusk. Breakfast is excellent till 12noon. For some fun in Madrid, I would recommend this one solo or with a friend.

Location, location, location! The location is great! Could not be better either for the night, either for the day ... nor was it necessary to go underground (except for the Matadero). The breakfast is quite good and time is fantastic! All hotels should have breakfast until noon. The hotel's design is interesting, particularly the lobby is beautiful. The room was...

We visit Madrid every year and for 2 we have stayed at Room Mate Oscar. Very simply it's the best hotel in terms of quality and value for money. This year underpinned their excellent service as we were forced to stay an extra 3 nights when our flight was grounded due to volcanic ash. Not only did Room Mate give...

It's a place you look forward to coming home to after a day of sight seeing Madrid. To get refreshed for the party that evenings and nights in Madrid are, starting right onthe popular roof terrace for predinner drinks. Excellent location, great rooms, quiet enough as we were on the 7th floor. Very friendly, helpful staff.

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
