The hotel’s location is perfect for first time visitors, many restaurants in the area as well as shopping centers. The hotel itself is very cozy and invited, the personnel are super helpful and friendly, we will definitely stay here again in the future.
My husband and I spent 5 nights in elegance! From the moment we checked in, everyone was professional and friendly. Our room was perfect with a terrific view of the Grand Via. Our breakfasts were delicious and reflected local delicacies. The Principal Madrid hotel was our sanctuary! We highly recommend it!
During our stay at The Principal Madrid, my wife became very ill. The staff was extremely helpful with calling a doctor and then assisting us to get to an emergency room. The service was above and beyond and we are grateful for their excellent service. We would definitley stay again when in Madrid and highly recommend this lovely hotel in a very nice location.
The location, the service, and the details are the reason why this hotel is fantastic. It was my birthday, and I was upgraded. I got a surprise cake and balloons 🎈 in my room—what a fantastic surprise. The quality of the service in reception and the bar was outstanding. The waitperson Jose a Cuban guy remembered our favorite drinks daily and provided tremendous service. The room was impeccable, including all the details, such as the ropes, pillows, bed lingering, etc. The hotel is located in the Gran Via, where everything is happening. I don't have any negative statements. The Principal hotel is highly recommended—top on my list.
Walking distance to great restaurants, bars, amazing city highlights and the best shopping at Calle Serrano. The staff is fantastic, specially our concierge José Carlos, he was super friendly and made sure our stay was perfect. We’ve stayed in other hotels but The Principal will be our come-back place.
When we were looking for hotels, I leaned on Tripadvisor reviews. Therefore, I feel it is my responsibility to take the time to share our experience at the Principal Madrid. First of all, I have shared this feedback directly with the hotel... The photos are misleading. This is a boutique hotel, so small, quaint, but know that with a dark decor, it is in fact, very dark, the hallway carpet was stained and because it is dark, every bit of dirt and debris shows up which gives one the feeling that the hotel is not quite clean. Staff at the front desk on the top floor were abrupt and not helpful as we looked for help with activities and treated us as an inconvenience. Bar and door staff and LOCATION were the best part of our experience there.
Usually we go to starred restaurants to celebrate our birthdays around the world, nevertheless the Atico has been a great pleasure ti dine to, and we definitely will go back while in Madrid. Kindly staff, great food, perfect evening.
Highly recommend! Fantastic food & service! We loved staying at the Principal Hotel and dining in their yummy restaurant! The customer service was over the top! We had breakfast, lunch & dinner during our stay.
Our experience was amazing from start to finish. The service was incredible right through the hotel. The attention to detail outstanding. The rooms were very comfortable, the linen soft and fresh. The chambermaids were so accommodating and the food delicious. The views from the roof top were great and the staff throughout the reception and restaurant delightful. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and when I come back to Madrid I would not go to another hotel as I was blown away with the whole experience. The staff on the door were so approachable, knowledgeable and friendly and the hotel's location was so central and easy to move around the city.
The boutique hotels is very nice. The lobby area has an energetic atmosphere and they offer complimentary drink at check in time. The place is very nice, the staff is also very nice. The breakfast is great. The only thing I didn’t like was the room. Very small room. The room was very dark and since we got a room with no view it makes the room darker. When I made the reservation it said “executive room”, so I thought it would be a nice size. For a couple traveling for 20 days in Europe was quite difficult to accommodate luggage. There is a desk but in order to use the desk we would have to move the luggage to make some room for the chair. That’s the only reason I’m giving 4 stars here.
