Where can I start... convenient location just a step from the historic center. Our room was very spacious with a great view of the Murgia. Before arriving we had recommended for cleaning the room and mattresses having a child allergic to dust and also for cleaning were impeccable. Exceptional breakfast! All quality but a special mention goes to the desserts, all homemade and delicious, such as cheeses and the typical Matera focaccia. Last but not least the staff... starting from the manager Saverio, a very helpful and extremely kind person, passing to those who served breakfast or cleaned the rooms, they never missed the greeting accompanied by a smile.

The structure is located in the Sassi of Matera in a very convenient position for visiting the city. Upon our arrival, Saverio welcomed us with great kindness and helpfulness. He immediately gave us all the useful information to visit the city in the best way. Then he wanted to give us a superior room to the one booked. A gesture that we really appreciated and which shows how much Saverio cares about his customers' stay. The very large, carefully furnished room has a furnished balcony overlooking the Sassi and which offers an exciting view especially in the evening. In the wardrobe we found a wide selection of pillows and duvets which confirms the attention to detail of the structure. Breakfast is served in a beautiful large room. The buffet is made up of excellent quality local cured meats and cheeses and sensational handcrafted cakes and jams. The presence of Antonia, a friendly and kind girl in love with her city, enriches the breakfast. who while serving breakfast tells you about local traditions, legends and curiosities and offers advice for the visit. Definitely a unique structure that contributes to making your stay in this enchanting city unforgettable.

We spent a night in this enchanting property in the Sassi of Matera with very beautiful rooms, large, clean and furnished with great taste and beautiful details. They offer private parking upon reservation. Very friendly welcome, they even organized the Tuk-Tuk for our first visit to Matera, which picked us up and brought us back right in front of the property, thanks again! The location is excellent for visiting the city, excellent and plentiful breakfast with very fresh products.

We stayed at this B&B for three nights based on the reviews here. The stay corresponded with my wife’s birthday so we took the nicest room which was located in an adjoining building and was large and very cave-like. It had a balcony overlooking the gorge and a huge jacuzzi Bath in the main room. Very impressive!
Breakfast was taken in the main building and was delicious consisting of a wide range of local dishes. I asked for poached eggs and although I don’t think the cook had much experience she was an expert by the end of the three days - great effort!
Parking is away from the b&b and we managed to get into the reserved open air car park on arrival. It was agreed that a space would be reserved for me as we were out exploring every day and I was concerned that the car park was full when we returned in day two. Not an issue! Aside from the open air car park, Origini also own the very large locked garage next door so parking should never be an issue (a valuable commodity in Matera!) I also had chance to view the owners lovely old classic Fiat 500. Don’t forget to drive it!!!
All in all an excellent stay. Stunning accommodation, well located with friendly staff and tasty breakfast. The views are spectacular too. As we were leaving the team gave my wife a charming little birthday gift too!

I don't usually write reviews, but this place deserves it! We were lucky enough to come across this beautiful structure, and already from browsing the site, it seemed like an enchanting place where we could spend our free weekend... We were certain of this once we arrived on site. Very kind staff welcomed us and accompanied us to "our" deluxe suite with balcony... How to explain everything? Beautiful suite, excellently furnished, just as shown in the photo on the official website. Very comfortable bed, hydromassage tub with chromotherapy, radio, where you risk never wanting to go out again, balcony overlooking the Murgia, very large bathroom, equipped with a very spacious shower, and all well looked after, tidy and clean... In short , highly recommended... And then what about breakfast? Choose between sweet and savory, with homemade cakes and local savory products. The kindness and hospitality make the stay even more beautiful and this makes the guest happy to return to the facility... The only negative note? Having had to return and leave this lovely place!

What a lovely hotel, the location is right in the Sassi area. Saverio, the owner and his wife welcomed us warmly and told us about the history of Matera. The breakfast was delicious too. Our room was amazing, we had a 2 levels room with a lot of space nicely decorated with a great shower! The hotel has a private parking 2 minutes from the hotel, if u have a car make sure to reserve a spot for 10 euros a day. If you’re looking for a great hotel in Matera, this is the place to stay!

We stayed two nights at Le Origini, in a beautiful room with a spectacular view of the Sasso Barisano. The structure is adjacent to one of the entrances to the Sasso and, with reservation, offers private parking; at the same time it is close to Piano and Civita. The hotel is very beautiful, characteristic and at the same time modern. The kindness and friendliness of the hotel guys is unique. Excellent breakfast.

Recommended by a friend of ours originally from Matera, we stayed in this strategic and beautiful b&b in the historic center (ZTL area). Saverio and Anna, the two young owners, welcomed us with a smile and the kindness typical of Southern people: we immediately felt at home. The room, with a magnificent view of the famous 'sassi', is welcoming and tastefully furnished. The b&b has private parking about 100m away. The breakfast is plentiful and full of genuine products. A special mention to the choice of yogurt: in glass jars and not in those hateful plastic packages... well done! Another gem? The homemade cakes (the one with ricotta is superb). Thank you Saverio and Anna, you were two excellent hosts. And the girls on the staff are also good: kind, friendly and full of attention towards the guests. đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź

This was an amazing 2 night stay as part of our honeymoon trip. Anna made contact with us the day before and provided useful information on how to in the hotel and the car park which is handily outside the ZTL but only a 2 minute walk to the hotel. Upon check-in she gave us more tips and recommendations for restaurants/bars etc. She was also contactable during our stay to help arrange restaurant bookings and even an Ape tour of the city. Breakfast was the best we have had since we have been in Italy and was hosted by Saverio who greeted us each morning with a cheery attitude, explained what was being served for breakfast that day and then made us delicious coffees, scrambled eggs and smoothies! The room itself was fantastic. It was clean, tidy and had all the amenities you would expect of such a place. Ours included a jacuzzi bath and a balcony (thanks Anna for the upgrade). The location is also good as it's right on the edge of the Sassi so easily accessible for cars but the hotel itself is within the old town. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Matera.

Enchanting location that stands on a breathtaking panorama of the stones of Matera. The rooms are spacious and well looked after down to the smallest detail, impeccably clean, and equipped with every comfort. I recommend the “overview” and “neighborhood”! The delicious breakfast is served with exceptional homemade desserts, but also several excellent savory alternatives. Friendly and super welcoming staff, attentive and available to make your stay even more beautiful! Furthermore, it is possible to book a very convenient car park less than 100 meters from the structure, at a very low price, which allows you to fully enjoy the scenic beauty, walking among the stones and the historic centre, without the stress of the car.
Thanks again from the bottom of my heart! We will gladly return as your guests and recommend your accommodation facility, because it deserves and you truly deserve it!
