Knowing and living Matera means to look at it from different perspectives, to discover: the ancient district of the Sassi, the Cathedral, the mysterious Castle of Count Tramontano, the lively central streets, the churches and the hypogea. The 5-star Hotel La Suite is the point of connection and departure for getting to know, watching and experiencing Matera, but also the environment in which every detail aims to offer an experience of comfort that the guest can feel tailor-made for himself. The design of the Hotel La Suite has been signed by Marco Piva Studio, whose creations have always surprised in their fluid refinement, functionality and sobriety. The rooms, as suggested by the name of the hotel, are all Suites, with a size between 30 and 80 square meters. Each room can accommodate up to 2 people. You can choose among 5 categories: Comfort Suite, Comfort Suite Deluxe, Elegance Suite, Elegance Suite Deluxe, Panoramic Suite. The Hotel La Suite will be a second home for some guests, a place for others to disconnect from everyday life and relax or a base place in which you’ll never give up comfort. Whatever the perception and duration of the stay, this 5-star hotel will always welcome guests putting at the center their well-being.

We had the opportunity to stay in this hotel because it was chosen by the agency organizing our tour. Even if it does not correspond at all to our tastes (we prefer something more authentic, this one, very designer could be located in any other site), we appreciated the size of the room and the bathroom. The excellent breakfast was one of the most varied of our stay and the staff was very professional. A small downside, when walking barefoot in the room, we noticed that the floor was not as clean as it should have been and the carpet in front of the front door could have used a good vacuuming, observation made during the two days of our stay. This hotel is very well located for visiting the city and accessible by taxi from the bus station for around fifteen euros.

Beautiful, imposing, very modern structure. Room 204 is very large, even the bathroom is on the terrace!
Helpful and professional staff.!
However, there are some things to improve; waking up at 8 in the morning because we could hear absurd noises from the room above ours (I think they were cleaning the room, otherwise I can't explain all those noises)! Perhaps the soundproofing of the room is not the best and should absolutely be reviewed!
Furthermore, breakfast for a 5-star hotel is not vast, in fact there is only a small space dedicated to it with little staff available, in fact we had to wait to be seated, tables not prepared, dishes missing!
Last and not least, they actually have to equip breakfast for a celiac person! The previous afternoon we informed us that the person accompanying me had celiac disease and they replied that we are equipped for anything! Fantastic but the next day for gluten-free breakfast they only brought us a croissant and nothing salty!
If I had to choose it, I would definitely choose it again also for the location and the positive notes said initially but from a 5-star hotel I have other expectations!

Just returned from Matera, where I spent 4 nights at La Suite Hotel Matera & Spa. Important premise: this is a 5-star hotel and therefore the ratings are related to the classification of the structure. The hotel is in an excellent position, from which you can reach Piazza Vittorio Veneto (main square) in just 5 minutes on foot, excellent structure and good finishes, very large room with living room. I cannot say the same about the cleanliness of this hotel and the management that you expect from a hotel of this level. The cleanliness of the room was not up to par (mirrors not perfectly clean, floors of the room and balcony with evident presence of dust and dirt residue) as was that of the service stairs adjacent to the lift (accumulations of dust in several places ); the leaves of the plants in the breakfast room were covered in dust. We had problems with the heated towel rail in the bathroom: despite multiple reports and an intervention in the room by a staff member, it never worked during the 4 days of our stay, but no one bothered to get back in touch to check the situation and/or understand how to resolve it.
The room we stayed in was poorly soundproofed, other guests were heard talking several times, although we were unable to understand where it was coming from. Positive and appreciated is the presence in the room of two new bottles of water free of charge every day, if consumed. The breakfast buffet can certainly be improved, assorted but not extensive; welcome the presence of many fresh and/or "homemade" products but at the same time some different less genuine substitute packaged products; lack of an "a la carte" menu for freshly prepared dishes (such as hard-boiled eggs, bull's eye, etc... and then accidentally discovering from other guests the possibility of having freshly squeezed orange juice), of a selection of teas or herbal teas. Lack of information on the products displayed.
Staff at times a little awkward and unprepared (perhaps due to the young age of the majority), pay little attention to the guest. When asked for tourist information about the city and the possible activities we could do, we were first told to ask another colleague from another shift because she was local, and then direct us to the nearby tourist agency.
Finally, we detected an unpleasant "discrimination" at check out: another couple of guests were honored with a present, which did not happen in our case.
To conclude, a structure with great potential and enormous room for improvement.

The location was good. Everything in black, modern but depressing. Parking expensive so cheaper to use the parking garage just 50 m down the road.
The "garden café" was like sitting in a hallway overlooking the parking lot in the back - although they had tried to shield it with fake tall plants. Breakfast very basic for a 5 star hotel.
The staff was helpful when they tried to just find one English speaking channel on the tv. Took a long time but finally got only one - CNN (which was ok) but every time you put the tv on you would have to go though search items etc. Not good.
The spa facilities were nothing to write home about. No bathrobes provided in the room. There are so many far better accommodations nearby for half the price.

I went to this spa with a friend, after booking an exclusive 60-minute program a few days before. Amazing hospitality and structure: everything foreshadowed a pleasant and relaxing trip to the spa. But, alas, it wasn't like that, in fact the exact opposite. The Turkish bath was turned off, when we asked for explanations, we were told that we had to turn it on ourselves. Of course it didn't reach temperature so we couldn't use it. The water in the hot tub was at room temperature and you couldn't even smell the chlorine needed to disinfect. Taking into account that they provide cloth slippers, therefore not suitable for entering the water, there was the danger of slipping and even catching an infection. Even herbal teas were a pipe dream, given that there were 4 tea filters sold in supermarkets. In the end the route was reduced to the sauna and shower. The only positive note and which we compliment are the bathrobes, very soft and pleasant on the skin. Upon leaving, no one asked us how it went and no one apologized for not having found the Turkish bath turned on.

The hotel is wonderful! The room is huge and has a coffee machine, an electric kettle, tea and coffee cups, bottles of water which are a kindness to guests. The bathroom is great and also has everything you need for a great stay. The receptionist was very attentive and explained the entire route for us to enjoy our visit to the city. The hotel is close to the historic center, which makes visiting the beautiful city of Matera very easy. There is parking that is paid separately
When checking out, a receptionist was very helpful and brought our luggage to the car.

Nothing to say about the structure both in terms of how it presents itself and how it is positioned in relation to the center of the city... it's a shame for some members of the staff who are completely inadequate compared to the standards imposed by the caliber of a 5 star hotel. In fact, on more than one occasion the tones used by a receptionist towards us proved to be annoyed and rude. Furthermore, at the end of the stay, in addition to the supplement due to the rebooking, we were asked to pay for services (parking, spa entrance, tourist tax) already paid in full at the time of booking. I honestly wouldn't recommend it

Brand new structure, just renovated, very spacious and modern rooms. Television without sky. Average continental breakfast. Lukewarm shower water, there was no way to make it hot. The water in the hydromassage pool was cold, we were unable to enjoy the private spa (for a fee). All in all, problems that were overcome and bearable if it wasn't a 5 star rating.
Excellent location for visiting the historic center.

We stayed at this hotel, one block from the Sassi. We were welcomed by a lovely woman at the desk who helped us park the car, showed us to our room and recommended several wonderful restaurants in Matera. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable and well equipped with espresso machine and nice lighting. Breakfast was a full buffet including local pomegranate jelly. A great way to start our visit to the Puglia/Basilicata regions. Thank you!!!

We had a very good time: welcoming and professional staff, the structure is very modern and with every comfort. The suite rooms fully reflect the value attributed. The breakfast is superb: rich, but at the same time refined. We will definitely return
