A wonderful B&B in front of one of the most beautiful and evocative views we have ever seen! Sleeping in a Sasso was a truly unique and exciting experience, but thanks to Mimmo and Tiziana who welcomed us with great kindness and availability, spoiled us with exceptional, rich and delicious breakfasts, and advised us on how to best spend the three days in Matera and which places to eat to taste the exceptional traditional cuisine, we felt like we were at home and part of the family!
We underline the beauty of the rooms where absolutely nothing is missing (including the comfort of the bed and pillows!) the extreme cleanliness, the attention to every smallest detail and the care and taste in the choice of furnishings, thanks to which the owners have been able to preserve and enhance a very rich and precious heritage! A heartfelt thank you therefore certainly goes to them, with the certainty that we will return to visit them in one of the most beautiful and incredible cities in the world!

I had the privilege of spending a two-night stay at this b&b with my partner. The room "Panorama" is a corner of extraordinary beauty, built of stone, with soft and relaxing colors that create a warm and cozy atmosphere. Every detail seems designed to offer maximum comfort and beauty.
The view of the room is just as incredible, a French window that gives on a spectacular view of the houses of Matera. In the evening, the city lights up, and the lights of the houses create a suggestive atmosphere, like a nativity scene that comes to life.
But what made the stay even more special was the welcome of Tiziana and Domenico. They were impeccable hosts, they welcomed us with warmth and sympathy. Their passion for the structure is palpable: they told us with enthusiasm the history of the B&B and the care with which they built it, trying every day to offer a special welcome to guests.

Breakfast is another unforgettable moment: a selection of fresh and genuine products, including sweet and savoury, prepared with great care. You feel the quality and passion in every single dish, and all accompanied by a kindness that makes you feel really special.

At the end of the stay, we had the feeling of leaving home of friends, people who made us feel welcome and who left me a beautiful memory. I recommend La Corte dei Pastori to anyone who wants to discover the magic of Matera and experience a unique, true and genuine welcome.

Beautiful B&B in one of the most historic places in the world. The rooms are built into the rocks, very modern, stylishly furnished and all with a view over Matera and the Sassi. The Owner couple are friendly, helpful and serve a great breakfast. From here you can explore Matera on foot and experience its unique atmosphere . An unqualified Recommendation.

Really special this B&B: if we talk about the Sassi, it could not be more in the center than this, just below the church of the iris and above the square where the shuttle stops: if you want to sleep in the stones this is an important detail to not have to walk too much dragging the trolley. Perfect for walking around the whole area of the stones. The managers are very nice and helpful. Good breakfast, unfortunately served inside given the temperature, otherwise the structure has terraces with a fantastic view. Experience that we would recommend and that we hope to repeat.

A truly unique place in the center of the Sassi of Matera. The breathtaking view, the kindness and hospitality of the owners will truly leave you speechless. Each room with attention to the smallest details inside the caves makes "the shepherds' court" an enchanting place. If you want to stay in the heart of Matera, this is the ideal place. Super highly recommended!!

B&B overlooking Piazza San Pietro Caveosi and the valley, so great location, we stayed in the Grotta room that we loved, small but romantic, ideal for couples. The owners were very kind and put us immediately at ease, the breakfast is great and plentiful. Highly recommended.

Exceptional location above Piazza San Pietro Caveoso, in the heart of the Sassi. Unique and exciting view of the Murgia park and the beautiful setting of Matera. The five rooms are furnished with taste and respect for the environment; and the rock is the main and characteristic element that the careful choice of furnishing elements pay homage to. The panoramic terrace is an unmissable plus especially when you can enjoy the good weather and have breakfast outside. The suite is among the most beautiful and refined rooms I have seen, and respects the long-awaited date of the photographs.
Excellent breakfast that is served with a good mix of sweet and savory.
The owners are two lovely people who will support every need or request for advice.

A magical place, with a breathtaking view of the stones of Matera, the only one of the place. A unique experience given by the possibility of sleeping in exclusive rooms, dug into the ancient caves and cared for in every detail. I stayed two nights in the Byzantine room, where you can find frescoes from the Paleolithic age, very comfortable double bed and shower in the rock with chromotherapy. Perceiving the ancestral energy of these caves is a unique experience. The rich and delicious breakfasts with local products, consumed on the terrace in front of the room overlooking the stones are a unique and relaxing emotion. The owners Mimmo and Tiziana are helpful and delightful people.

This b&b was in such a great location and the view from outside the room is beautiful. The owners were so helpful and kind. The breakfast was the best we had during our 2 weeks in Italy. The room itself was small but comfortable, and it’s such a cool experience to stay in a cave.

I parcheggi si trovano fuori dal centro. Ci sono quelli a pagamento oppure puoi lasciarla per strada. Non sono vicini quindi consiglio bagagli leggeri.
