With No Time To Die pending an April 2020 release date those wanting to get into the action may want to check out this hotel as the perfect base - five minutes from the Tower and Duomo and the incredible motorbike stunt and ten minutes from the car chase locations and that of the square seen at the end of trailer one. Incredibly clean, comfortable with friendly staff with a great breakfast (amazing coffee!) the Albergo seems to appear from inside a church. Terrific location. Those hoping to see the Ponte Aquedotto (the bridge leapt from at the start of the cat chase) will need to travel 20mins to Gravina in Puglia, a nearby town. Don't go on Monday as most everything is closed. Costing approx 70 euro by taxi or 5 euro by bus (six buses a day and six return) the bridge can be seen in a morning so suggest basing in Matera and a 3 -4 he trip to Gravina. Overall this hotel is perfect for those wanting to see the film locations - 10/10 for cleanliness, comfort and friendliness. A score worthy of 007 himself.

Perfect location, room in the cave, very suggestive and particular. Poor check-in service as well as breakfast. Upon our arrival we had to wait about 15 minutes to get our room. The receptionist was alone and accompanied guests to the rooms even to the annexe located in the historic center (at least 100 meters).
For breakfast the indicated time is not respected (only an attendant). Thawed brioche, hard bread, cakes already cut and left over from the day before (1 slice of tart), fruit juices in bricks and poor quality, biscuits of Mulino Bianco!!!! Can't a 4-star hotel stock up in a bakery????? Breakfast time 8.00-10.00. At 8,10 it was still not served!!!!!
I do not tolerate all this in a 4 star hotel!!!!!!

I stayed for two nights with friends at this hotel. Notes of merit the fantastic location, in the immediate vicinity of the most 'interesting attractions of Matera and the great kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Breakfast without particular interesting points. Extremely painful note that of the services without any comfort. In my room they were very small making it very laborious to use, in that of my friends not only lacked the bidet but the bathtub had a side wall that made it difficult and dangerous to use. Too bad because all this makes the final judgment not very positive.

Hotel rooms are nice and staff is also very friendly however we booked this hotel for the whole family in travel and they split us up part in main hotel and the others 100 meters away. To add this annex has 100 stairs to get to all cobbled and having a baby and a 4year old with 2 buggies and luggages was not the ideal. Was feat trying to leave and get to our room. I would have left had i not paid when booking. However the cherry on the cake was that at the end of the trip we where charged an extra 138euro for the kids beds!!! Wrote an email to managment and got totally ignored besides asking to speak to managment whilst there but was always told no one was available!!???
Also the other 2 rooms at main hotel where with no central heating for the 2 night stay at 3°C. Not recommended!

As per the title 4 go to the staff, especially the blonde girl who serves breakfast and rearranges the rooms
For the rest nothing much
Good location (objective data)
I also recommend something else based on the exaggerated proposal that Matera offers.

+ Very good location, spacious room, modern and comfortable but nevertheless remains very typical of the Sassi (do not expect the room to be very bright). Very nice bathroom and fairly decent bedding.

- The curtains do not allow you to achieve complete blackness. We stayed in room 201 which overlooks the street, which can be a little noisy with the traffic.

Minibar empty. Worn sofas. Shower blocked with water flowing into the room. Noises at night, first from the nightlife, then from the garbage collectors. Sleepless night. Front office hired by chance. 4 fake stars.
The only positive note is the hot tub.

I was traveling with a small group so we were staying in 4 separate rooms, each unique. Our room was set up with 2 twin beds. Others included a balcony, one a round bed. The tilework and decorations in our room were quite striking and they made much of what could have been a dull rectangle. Only problem was that the 4" rise to the bed platform meant leaving some light on at night to avoid accidents. Free WiFi and a pleasant breakfast room were nice amenities.
There are stairs to climb both from the plaza and again up to the hotel entrance. The desk girls were eager to help with bags- something of a marvel while wearing heels. Overall a very nice place and an easy walk to the historic sites you came to see and some very good restaurants.

We usually drive into a town and go to the tourist info centre to find our accommodation. In Matera, the tourist info fellow was wonderfully friendly and enthusiastic, and recommended and booked for us Albergo del Sedile. We knew that Matera was not a "driver's town", so we were quite prepared to leave the car in a parking building and trundle our bags a couple of hundred metres over the cobbled streets to the hotel, on the Piazza Sedile. Yes, a bit of a hassle, but part of life's rich tapesty!

The hotel is decorated in ultra-modern style, and very comfortable. The check-in was efficient though cool. Our room was well-equipped. Matera itself is an astonishing place, and after a quick stroll around we decided to stay an extra night. Breakfast was adequate, but fairly slim pickin's. The hotel is on the piazza, which houses the local music conservatorium: there is a bohemian atmosphere and the tinkle of piano and violin music drifts on the air.

Albergo del Sedile is a slightly impersonal place. There is no bar or restaurant, and the staff seem to be just caretakers, but this was absolutely fine for what we wanted, Peace and privacy. We'd most likely stay again for the modern creature comforts.
