The location was fantastic. The view from the terrass is magnificent even though the main road goes below. The cleaning of rooms was excellent. Clean and fresh in every corners. The staff incredibly helpful. They even drove you on shorter trips.

I know this is very individual but we thought the beds was to hard.
The traffic could sometimes be a bit noisy because the main road is passing nest to the hotel.

From what I've seen, the Amalfi Coast is overrated when it comes to prices. However, Locanda is a nice hotel right on the main road (extremely important, as transportation is quite an issue around here), just 10 steps away from the bus stop (another asset!).

Filomena and Pino are extremely nice and kind people. We had a lot of pleasant surprizes on our honeymoon here.

It's not exactly in the city of amalfi, but around 4-5 km away. However, its location is a plus due to the proximity to the bus stop.

The rooms are small, but decorated with taste.

Do follow Filomena's advices for the trips around - we had a wonderful time on the amalfi coast thanks to her and her husband.

We planned to stay in this hotel for 1 night but after about one hour in our room we were covered by bed bugs. The owner didn't come to look but gave us the key to the next room. We decided to leave at around eleven o'clock and went to the nearby hotel Bellevue for a real clean room. Now after several days we are still itching. Stay away from Locanda Costa d'Amalfi

We have contacted Trip Advisor, and by law we are obliged to reply to the "untrue" comments made on this website regarding our establishment before any further action can be taken. To begin with, this booking made through Booking.Com was classified by Booking .Com as a "No Show" as there was no stay in our B&B., infact you entered the room and left after 2 minutes with this terrible statement, in addition, you refused to go back to the room with us to show us what you think you might have seen. Therefore, we are convinced that it was just an excuse to leave, as you wanted a room with balcony, which was not available at that point in time as we were fully booked. We would also add that no payment was made by Booking.Com. as there was no check in on our part. We would invite anyone reading this to read the many wonderful comments we have received over the years!!

My boyfriend and I stayed here in July and were really not impressed with it at all. Although it was one of the cheaper 'hotels' to stay in, it still didnt meet the requirements we were expecting. On our first night there we wanted to go into Amalfi town for dinner so the owners were good enough to bring is down, otherwise its a 20-25 minute walk on a very dangerous and windy road. before leaving we had asked them about the bus service which goes from Amalfi all day until 11.30 pm and drops tourists off at their hotels. They told us to get on, say then name of our hotel and they would drop us outside...not so simple!! We did all that but the bus driver had no idea and just kept driving at least one hour walk past our hotel and left us with no other choice but to get out and start walking back, in the pitch black on one of the most dangerous roads in Amalfi!! We were furious, not to mention absolutely terrified! Finally after some time walking a local man stopped and offered us a lift, under any other circumstances we would have refused but we were desperate! The next morning when we told the owners of Locanda they didnt even flinch and were extremely unapologetic. Very bad start! Things only got worse... In the middle of our stay I woke up one night itching everywhere to find ants literally crawling all over me..and I dont mean 5 or 6, I mean hundreds everywhere, all in my suitcase beside me and in our bed. It was disgraceful! My boyfriend went down to reception and told them immediately, a few minutes later the cleaner came up ith a sweeping brush and pan!!!! I couldnt believe it, they just didnt care!! Their reasoning for it was that 'they come from the flowers outside'... was that supposed to make me feel better? I was in shock!

Apart from all this, breakfast was OK. Nothing special, toast, some cheese, a pastry and coffee. A.C was broken and we could never get it working correctly so we were either always too hot or too cold..not ideal! Overall our experience at this hotel was not acceptable and I would not recommend it to anyone. Honestly if you are going to go all the way to Amalfi, pay that extra bit of money for a nice hotel in an unforgettable location and make your holiday worth it. Otherwise stay in Positano, far more beautiful and a lot more to do.

After so many wonderful comments, it is sad to have a negative one. However, we would just like to add that even though our well run establishment is only a B&B, we do offer our Clients the possibilty to use our shuttle service to and from Amalfi, after bus service hours, which obviously do not depend on us. We would also like to point out that if people take food upto their rooms then it is adviseable to be careful as any crumbs will attract ants wherever you go, even in the best Hotels.

After my first night I had some bites that I thought were mosquitos first. I decided to wait and made sure I had my windows closed all day and night as my A/C was running. The second evening I went to bed and woke up with 9 new bites which were swallen and very painful. The bites only happened at night. The next day I told the owners I wanted a new room but they were fully booked. They asked for inspection of my bed and sure enough we found a bedbug on the sheets. They said I can stay another night and they can move me the next day or I can look for another place. This was extremely stressful as I was on Capri all day and it was at this point 9 pm. I asked for discount for the saty The next day the owner

We stayed in this beautiful little hotel for 3 nights recently our room was very chic and boutique Italian style with an incredible balcony with un rivaled views of the most amazing scenery in Amalfi , the hosts could simply not do enough for you , breakfast was perfect , shuttle service and constant knowledgeable information and guidance to ensure our short stay was packed with all we could possibly do, we will 100 percent return to Amalfi and couldn't reccomend this hotel enough for a stay, thanks Pino and Filomena , Keith and Tara

I highly recommend Locanda Costa d'Amalfi to stay while visiting the beautiful Amalfi coast. The staff ( Filomena, Pino and Enza), were extremely helpful and friendly. This location also offers a convenient SITA bus stop, so you can visit other Municipalities such as Ravello, Positano, Conca del Marini to say the least.... Grazie Locanda per un posto e un'esperienza cosi meravigliosa!!!!

The place is a bit faraway from the city centre but the 4 km a day of walk were totally worth it for us (otherwise, there are buses, but we didn't seem to fully understand the way that the bus system there worked and anyway, we're the sporty type) ! We enjoyed to settle for a week in this calm place, far away from the noisy crowds of tourists. The rooms are not big but very charming and well equipped, with a daily room and bed cleaning which is vital regarding the 35°C outside... The breakfast is more than fine ; however, be aware that no dinner is proposed and the only solution is to go to restaurants at evenings, which can rapidly become expensive.
Perhaps the most important part is that the hosts are friendly and available for questions and advice about possible excursions. I strongly recommend this hotel !

Me and my husband came back from this hotel a few days ago we went for a 4 day break and it was absolutely perfect the room was lovely and clean beautiful hand painted paintings on the wall door and table and the view was stunning the pictures I took captured only half the beauty the staff were fantastic and really helpful and the breakfast was lovely the cakes are so good and such a big choice of yummy things . we really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this place to anyone we already have friends wanting yo book up and visit! the bus stop is literally round the corner to get you out an about the public beach which is about a mile walk and 200 steps down was beautiful definitely worth a visit so lovely theres restaurants down there too you can hire boats or go on a boat ride to the caves for a quater of the price from amalfi. There's also pizza place about a mile the opposite direction to the beach from the hotel towards amalfi right on the cliff with the most amazing view from upstairs off the roofless restaurant the pizzas and pasta dishes are so good and really reasonable prices so much cheaper than the main town this place is easy to miss but also worth a visit even just to enjoy the view fresh air and a cocktail amazing 😍😊
