Hotel Montestella is on the main pedestrian street in Salerno. It is 4-5 blocks away from the train station and a few minutes on foot from the marina at Piazza della Concordia where you can take the ferry to the Amalfi Coast towns. We used this hotel as a base for our daily trips by ferry to Amalfi and Positano....

My wife and I stayed at this hotel as a base to visit Pompeii. We traveled from Amalfi, and the walk from the Sita bus stop to the hotel was fairly manageable. It was about... 15 minutes if you don't get lost. The check in process was simple. We were about an hour early from the check in time and...

Excellent location and exceptional staff. Yolanda at reception was very professional and provided us with all the transport and travel information we required to make the most of our stay. Room was large with a very comfortable bed and clean linen daily. Breakfast had a good range and coffee.

My husband and I stayed for 4 days and used it as a base to explore the Amalfi Coast. The location can't be beat - about 10 minute walk from the train station and right on the main strip with plenty of cafes, gelaterias and shops. It is well marked, making it very easy to find and check-in was a...

This hotel is under construction, and they were not clear at all about that. Air conditioner is not working in the room - you need to call the reception to turn it on and off, without adjustment. Bathrooms are in a terrible situation, with useless towels. Every where around seems abandoned.

It is true that a hotel is a place to lay one's head, but it is the staff that make a stay pleasurable. My previous stay had two years ago and I looked forward to my return. I booked directly my party of 7 rooms and the e-mail correspondence was prompt and cordial. Upon arrival the greeting was warm and...

Under construction and we got a disgusting old room with bad paint. Thankfully the bathrooms were updated. Hotel obviously allows smoking because our room filled up with someone else's smoke (I'm allergic). Wires coming out of open holes in the walls. Ancient paint job. Dirty. The ONLY good thing was it was a 10 minute walk to the train station....

As we were staying only one night in order to break up our train journey from Bologna to Palermo, the location, 10 minutes walk from the train station and handy for exploring the heart of Salerno was exactly what we needed. What we also got was a lovely welcome from Joland who recommended the restaurant Molo 58 for a good...
