Five-star accommodation and a prime location sat high on the ancient rampart of tufa, the Parco dei Principi is a testament to the timeless creativity of Gio Ponti, one of the most enlightened advocates of Italian architecture of the 20th century.Between the blue sea of Sorrento Coast and the lush greenery of the botanical gardens, Paul Leopold of Bourbon, the princes of Cortchacow and the entourage of the Russian aristocracy fell in love with this incomparable natural scenery, giving it a solemn historical heritage.Minimal atmosphere and space characterises the 96 rooms with original furnishings designed by Gio Ponti and customized specifically for the Hotel: the famous headboard-beds (1948), toilet set 'Vanity' with circular mirrors (1950), the chair 'Lightweight' (Cassina, 1952) and large fitted wardrobes. A variety of ceramic floors - as many as rooms - in shades of blue and white, in antique Majolica D'Agostino from Salerno, to reflect the colours of the sea and sky of Sorrento: moons, circles, triangles, stars and leaves are also used to tell a different story in every room.At the Restaurant Gio Ponti, a spectacular window over the Gulf of Naples and its islands, the day starts with a grand breakfast. Through striking tunnels in the rock, you arrive at the private beach or at the equipped solarium on the cliff. The pier is home during the summer months to the restaurant Poggio Siracusa where you can enjoy the fresh offerings of the sea accompanied by the sounds of the waves below.Among the horizon, the ancient oaks and the rare trees essences of the enormous botanical park, there is a seawater swimming pool designed by Gio Ponti as 'a mirror of water to wood nymphs'.To restore harmony to the body and spirit, guests can access the Fitness & Beauty Center of the Hotel, the charming majolica rooftop terrace with a view, and the marbled terrace of Villa Cortchacow dating back to the eighteenth century, on which the first ballerina performed to the Court of St. Petersburg.Since 2012, the lobby, with the incredible view of the Gulf has hosted the 'Museum of the Opera', an exhibition of original drawings and furniture in the rooms and in the common areas that have marked the history of Italian design. The business center of the hotel offers several meeting rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi and innovative technology: from the classic style of Sedowa hall with a terrace overlooking the sea, to the most modern modular Leonardo hall, surrounded by the garden Bourbon, with a seat capacity of 350. The outdoor areas offer a pleasant alternative for coffee breaks, lunches and dinners.Within the enchanting scenery of Monti Lattari sloping terraces lined with citrus, Parco dei Principi is an excellent location for pleasant walks through the typical craft shops and luxury shopping streets in the center of Sorrento, and for excursions to the nearby Amalfi Coast, the island of Capri and the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

We stayed for a week at the Hotel Parco dei Principi, for my 50th birthday. When we got there, the manager John, was incredibly nice and accommodating. He arranged SO many appointments for us- from taxis to massages to COVID tests. I think we asked him a couple questions every day!! LOL We were able to upgrade and a decent price to a corner room with full view of the ocean and the town of Forio. It was a dream come true! Italy is a pretty simple place, so the rooms were exactly what we needed in Italy. They were simple enough with a touch of Italian culture. We were fed a 4 course dinner every night with authentic Italian food. The place overall was peaceful and inviting. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation.

This hotel is very pretty. The feel is very bright, open and airy with shades of blues and white predominately. The room was a nice size with a very nice bathroom, and we received an upgrade so we had a beautiful view of the bay with a large porch to sit and relax while watching the boats and yachts. The beach/bathing area was wonderful, with nice beach chairs and umbrellas and access to the tyrrhenian sea to take a dip. They serve food along the beach area and there is a restaurant on the sea level too. It was a treat to stay there!

I stayed at Parco dei Principi the second time with my husband. After getting to know this amazing place the first time, we were just longing for our return. Our stay was just perfect from the beginning. The booked transfer from the airport to the hotel was perfect and by the arriving at the hotel we were warmly welcomed. The reception fulfilled our wish and gave us the same Deluxe Double sea view room we had our first stay, which made us very happy, -for us it was like to come home. All staff at the hotel are very nice, professional and helpful. They really try to fulfill every wish you have. At Parci dei Principi we enjoyed every minute of our stay; the very special and "blue" Ponti-athmosphere with it's special interiors, the invincible view over the sea, the perfect but not intrusive service and the delicious mediterranian and italian fresh food. Here we were able to just relax and enjoy. An absoulutely highlight is the very nicely situated restaurant on the beach, where you can enjoy delightful fresh and light food for lunch. We appreciated very much the quiet and calm over the whole hotel area, -although the hotel had many guests, there were always enough space everywere to feel comfortable. I also want to mention the large an beautiful garden of the hotel. It is in very well-maintained condition with many different interesting plants and trees from all over the world. The stay at Parco dei Principi is so pleasant, that we felt hardly a need to leave the hotel. However, once we made a beautiful tour through the Sorrent peninsula with our nice taxidriver. This region is just amazing and Parco dei Principi is a unique place to stay. We will definately come back and are already looking forward to our next stay.

Had pretty high expectations for our trip to Italy, but didn’t think the highlight would be our stay here in Sorrento instead of Positano. This hotel was the reason. The beach area is fantastic. Absolutely incredible, the staff there, the views and the water itself are world class. Haven’t had a more relaxing experience, and truly have never spent so much time at the hotel instead of exploring the area around it, but there was no need to. Being honest, the restaurant down by the beach is pretty overrated but the other hotel food locations were all very good. As a traveller from North America I’ve got no problem recommending this place, was very comfortable and seemed to be nicely removed from how chaotic the rest of Italy may feel to North Americans.
