We stayed for a week at Hotel Regina and really could not fault the place.
You do wonder when you get dropped a couple of minutes away and are told to walk down a narrow cobbled street but that soon faded.

Situated 5 minutes from the main street, overlooking the Bay of Naples, Hotel Regina was a fantastic find and perfect base to explore Sorrento and beyond. We booked a superior room with lateral sea views as there were 3 of us travelling. The room size...More
Hotel Regina was a great find. The location was perfect -right on Marina Grande so within easy walking distance to everything. But in a quiet area which allowed for a good night's sleep.

Sorrento was our final destination in Italy & stayed at the Hotel Regina...perfection!
Our room had a small terrace perfect for sitting & enjoying a glass of wine & watching the boats in the water while seeing Mt Vesuvius directly across the sea.
The hotel was perfectly situated for Sorrento itself but also the relaxation of the bay of St Anna ! All the staff no matter their role were always friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks go to Antonio, Antonio, Giuseppe,Giovanni,Giovanna for advice about...More

You will need a car to transfer from Airport/Railway Station to your Hotel but you won't need one to get around Sorrento. We were lucky enough to be picked up at Naples Railway Station by Umberto Di Martino who is a local taxi driver from Positano who is very passionate about the area. He is young & a real family man. On the journey he was full of places to visit & its history. He told us we wouldn't need a car as the roads were very busy & that the local train station ran an excellent service to Pompeii & cost next to nothing. The Harbour is a short walk from Hotel Regina where u can get boats to Capri & Naples & Umberto even told us the best days to visit according to the weather & sailing conditions. We used Umberto to take us on the Amalfi Coast drive which was an amazing experience & his prices compared favourably with local offices. We didn't want to go on a coach because of the hairpin bends. We loved Sorrento & it was a holiday of a lifetime for us & I'm sure you will have a wonderful time too. If you wanted to ring Umberto direct his number is +39 333 2055039.
