Villa Oriana is a family run B&B located in the hills above Sorrento. A beautiful large white 'art deco' influenced house with stunning sea views of The Bay Area and Vesuvius. Peaceful and set in it's wonderful garden surrounded by orange and lemon trees yet only a short 20 minute walk down into Sorrento ( with , of course, an uphill walk back but that just helps to walk off all the delicious Italian food ). Maria and her staff were very welcoming and helpful and her breakfasts were a real treat of outstanding quality. Freshly squeezed juice from the orange trees outside your window, lovely coffee , delicious homemade cakes and quiches baked by Maria every morning and tasty tomatoes, mozzarella and ham. A star of the show here. Well placed for visiting Naples, Positano, Amalfi , Pompeii and Vesuvius and, of course , driving The Amalfi Coast. Couldn't recommend this place more highly. …
The villa is located in a surreal area: peaceful, fruit trees everywhere and a breathtaking view from the rooms. All staff is extremely welcoming, considerate and professional. We bought a bottle of Maria's homemade limoncello, so that we can feel (and taste) the ambiance of Villa Oriana Relais at home.
We booked very last minute to stay at this wonderful villa and were more than delighted by our stay. Maddalena welcomed us with such warmth of personality and provided us with a lovely glass of fresh lemonade and a caprese cake... after driving for 2 hours straight, this was just what we needed. The room was very large and the bed very comfortable. We had views of the gulf from our balcony. The villa has a lovely jacuzzi on the roof and sun beds. We made sure we enjoyed the jacuzzi for the short time we were there. Breakfast was delightful and selection all you could want. The staff once again were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Recently, as a follow up email, they attached the recipes of the cake they provided upon our welcoming as well as those on offer at breakfast. Lovely little gesture, although I know the results of my cake baking won’t match theirs. Would definitely come back, especially as it is very reasonably priced compared to many hotels in town. …
Believe everything you read about this hotel ! We are just back from a blissful week in amazing Sorrento at the beautiful Villa Oriana Relais. Everything was perfect except the weather 😉 Delicious breakfast ( especially the tomato and mozzarella tart ), immaculately clean large room, helpful hospitable staff and views to die for from the rooms and terraces. At least the walk up the path from Sorrento helped us to burn off the calories consumed at breakfast with three different types of freshly baked cake available 🍰 Only six rooms in the hotel so small and friendly rather than big and flashy x
We had two nights here and from the moment we arrived the service was impeccable. We were given information about the hotel and Sorrento over fresh cake and sparking wine. The room itself was huge, with comfortable beds and everything you would expect from a 5* hotel including slippers, toiletries etc. The breakfast exceeded all expectations with home made quiche, cakes, marmalade, honey etc. It truly was delicious! (Ps please send me the Nutella cake recipe!) The hotel is a 20min walk out of Sorrento with a steep uphill at the end. But to be able to have uninterrupted views over the bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius it was definitely worth it. Thank you to the whole team 💞
