Rosanna welcomed us to the little hideaway up an obscure lane 3 minutes walk from the main square and 5 minutes walk from the train station. Our room was spacious and light and looked back over the mountains. You get a little kitchen and kitchen table and everything you need to cook a meal although a sharp knife and sink plug are needed. Very safe. Very quiet. Very comfortable! Our advice: unless you’ve decided to stay in a cloistered hall to write a novel, avoid the towns of the Amalfi coast or Capri and stay In Sorrento. From there buses and ferries will take you wherever you want without the worry of getting stuck in traffic or the high seas. The train from Sorrento to Naples and Pompei is fast reliable and cheap.

Charming little hotel in a great location up a quiet alleyway but only a few steps away from the busy Corso Italia. No one mans the front desk but somehow when you need to check-in/out, collect the hotel tax, or have questions, someone magically appears with a big smile.

The place is surrounded by restaurants, bars, cafes, grocery stores, gelateries, etc. And less than 10 minutes walk to the train station. The room was quite large with a nice balcony that is oddly shared with the adjacent restaurant. Never had any complaints with noise or food smell though. The only complaint were the hard beds. Still, a very nice place to park yourselves & things for a few days to explore this part of Italy.

Stayed here , had the ground floor behind reception and the room was huge more like a studio apartment . Very cool as the air conditioning was excellent ( the window started 10 foot up the wall , it did open electrically) Very clean ,basic accommodation ( I’m a student so I didn’t mind ) safe wasn’t attached to the wall or floor and it was lightweight so could just be picked up !!!! . I wasn’t in the room much apart from sleeping ! Excellent location . Hotel is off the main drag and up an alley so I was glad I had google maps !!! Lady on reception was very friendly. Round the corner from Piazza Tasso . Overall I had a good stay and because it was up an alley it was away from all the noise of town . Excellent restaurant as you walk down the alley , turn left and you can eat on tables on the narrow street there .

Our experience was a little bit tough to start off with. Our shuttle from Naples airport forgot to pick us up on time, so we rang the number on our booking to let them know we would be late checking in. The lady (Rosanna) then told us there was no check in after 7pm (it was 9pm when we called). This wasn't noted anywhere on our confirmation, nor was our travel agent advised. All other hotels in the area were open for late check in. We managed to get there, only to be charged a late check in fee of €15 when we checked out. And they only accept cash.
In saying that, our stay was pleasant. Our room (Camilia) overlooked an orange grove and the hills, but there was also a restaurant at the back, which thankfully wasn't too busy even at night to have noisy patrons. The room was big and so was the bathroom. We didn't have any issue with water pressure or hot water. I loved that I could make myself a.cup of tea in the morning. Housekeeping did a good job with the rooms everyday. I used the washing pack they leave there, which costs €1.50 (a sponge, dishwashing soap and tea towel) to avoid the €5 charges everyday.
The suites are in a quiet part of the busy area, just off the main Piazza and streets where everything is accessible. Beware of the cobbled streets of your bringing heavy or bulky luggage, and there is no elevator in the building itself.
I would give this place a rating of 3 out of 5, only because Rosanna was nice enough to wait up for us so we could have a place to sleep for the night we arrived.

I like this little place although I think it's important to say it's not a normal hotel. It's more an apartment (it has a kitchenette) you would rent for a week at a resort area, but I think off season the manager takes people for shorter periods. The breakfast is not at a dining room, but items left in your room (packages snacks, cereal) and you are expected to clean up the dishes after yourself if you don't want an extra charge.

Understanding this, however, I think this place has alot going for it. It's clean, the rooms are fairly well taken care of and spacious compared to other hotels in this price range in Italy. You have nice view of the hills about the town from the window. Best of all it's only steps from the center of town which is great for walking around in the evening for shopping and dinner after a long day of touring the region.

It's also no more than 10 minutes from the train station, so rolling your luggage back and forth at the beginning and end of the stay is no problem.

The manager was nice, but business-like and isn't around during the day, though she makes an effort to be there when you check in. There is also a clever intercom at the door that rings her cell phone, so she can come if you check in at an unexpected time (which we did as we left unexpectedly early on our trip at the last minute to avoid being trapped on the east coast USA by a snowstorm).

All and all I was happy with our stay and the place fit our budget!

About
Description
The Villa, reconstructed in 2006, is located in the first road built in Sorrento of the former Romans. The former part of the structure, where the reception is found, shows magnificent ruins of columns from the More former Romans. The back of the building, where the terraces of all the apartments are found, looks over on a gorgeous big garden where you can drown yourself in the perfume of lemons. Less
