Is Hotel Canasta gay friendly? Will be traveling with my husband to Capri soon. We read that Capri is gay friendly but would like to know specifically about Hotel Canasta. Thank you.

Hi ... Yes I think so... There was a gay couple staying the same time as us... You're really left alone ... You only see the waiter at breakfast and he's lovely... The hotel is in a Good location .... Views from the rooms on the ground floor aren't great but it's in a quiet lane just off the main drag.... Try and get a room overlooking the faraglioni rocks, as some of the rooms had small terraces which had no view and were overlooked by everyone coming down the stairs. I think a first floor room would have better views! You'll have a great time.... So many lovely things to see... Make sure you go to the villa lysis... Amazing.... It even has An opium den ... Not in use of course!! Also there's an old monastery just up from the hotel ... That's beautiful.... Loads of artwork and There's a secret balcony with stunning views of a secret bay ...... And try Lo Sfizio restaurant .... The best food on the island , worth the walk up the hill ...have a fabulous time... ;)

I have a walking disability. How far is it to the main piazza? Are there many steps to access a sea view room?

The hotel is not that far from the main plaza. It's about 5 minutes walk. Capri is a very small town and most hotels are walking distance from the funicular. The room we got (with view of the sea) is on the main floor. The rooms without a view is one floor down. The main entrance itself is a few flight of stairs from the street.
