This is an absolutely fabulous place located in an extensive garden filled with different species of plants and cacti. It's away from the main crowds in the town but is easily accessible by taxi or car. Its a family run business. The team were amazing esp Lukas one of the owners who was incredibly helpful arranging transport and fabulous restaurants for us. We ate at the hotel a few times and the food and service were high quality. On several evenings we had live jazz or a singer and during Sunday breakfast we were treated to a live musician / singer playing guitar. I Believe its an excellent base to explore Ischia and perhaps Naples (which we did) or Capri. The room was very spacious and clean. We had a balcony. A bottle of prosecco was waiting in our room on arrival as well as a fruit platter. My only minor issue was that the shower screen mechanism was not smooth and often became jammed but I suspect that a previous guest had may have damaged it. So in all an excellent stay in a beautiful location with a 5* rated hospitality for its guests.…
Unique place, amazing view and wonderful friendly staff This resort has a great history and background: the owner and his beautiful garden created a truly special atmosphere A bit "new age" in some ways, but the resort is keeping up-to-date, renovating most of the rooms according to current standards, not loosing its authenticity! What we liked the most about this place: The friendliness of the staff who turned out to be understanding and more than helpful when having to address our few issues The atmosphere in the evening, when having an "aperitivo", listening to artists performing live on a tiny stage surrounded by 🌵 🌵 🌵 (so enjoyable, felt quite privileged) The amazing breakfasts with variety of homemade cakes (don't miss the pistachio one 😋), fresh fruits, honey from local beehives... and of course great coffee! In short 😉, a place apart, like no other👏👏👏 …
I am just finishing a 4 night stay here … what a fantastic place this is! My room was brand and absolutely gorgeous!.. large balcony with a sea view ,cooker fridge dishwasher beautiful bed .. day bed .. dining room table, a little sofa area .. very well decorated and designed .. but what has impressed me more than anything is the staff and owners .. I arrived on Tuesday lunch when the restaurant isn’t open but the owner made me a salad and sent up a bottle of wine with it .. I then spoke with the reception about local restaurants… not only did they number them on a map but also graded them according to price !!.. I wanted to go to the castle.. reception advises me that a day bus ticket would be better .. nothing has been any trouble .. I have eaten at the restaurant twice (lunch and dinner) both excellent and the chef came out to tell me what his specials were !!.. I will definitely be back and wholeheartedly recommend it…
The place is amazing (and the view is splendid) The room are very clean and fully equiped. You can use freely the pool and the thermal pool. The Host Lucas is very very helpful. And last but not least, the entrance to the cactus garden is included with the room (and the garden is amazing) In the garden you can enjoy during the summer some good concerts + cocktails. We were very impressed by this place.
Gorgeous room in a perfect location on the hillside. The views are stunning - my room had a furnished terrace with a drying rack, which proved quite useful. Bed was fantastic, as was the decor. The breakfast offered in the garden each morning was delicious, and well worth the upcharge. Best of all were the owners and the staff. So friendly and helpful with great dining recommendations and advice on traveling the island. Hope to return soon!!
I had visited the spectacular cactus garden and family run hotel on a "gardens of the Amalfi coast" guided holiday a few days before. Instantly i made up my mind to end my holiday with a few days relaxing here, if i could. I cancelled another hotel in Sorrento, came here, and i was not disappointed. I received a very warm welcome from the whole hotel Ravino team, and i felt very well cared for. My beautifully decorated mini apartment had the most comfortable bed with soft luxurious pillows, a kitchenette, my own little terrace, everything was perfect. I took breakfast in the restaurant; delicious fruits, cakes, breads-sorry I didn't stay long enough to try everything!! I sat in the lovely warm thermal pool. Just wished it was a slightly warmer time of year to enjoy this and the outside pool more. But i hope to return for that another day. The stunning cactus garden was a wonderful place to wander, and why I wanted to be there. Every day i could walk there, sit, draw a little, think and reflect, just imagine the years of work creating this collection of magnificent plants!! Peacocks and rabbits wandering there too. It is a very restorative and special corner of the world. The hotel arranged all my transfer journey back to Capodichino airport, I didn't have to care about a thing, and i cant wait to return one day to say thank you for that. Thank you Hotel and garden Ravino!!…
My husband and I had the most fantastic honeymoon staying at Villa Ravino. The staff were kind, welcoming and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants as well as some useful local knowledge. The apartment was simple but comfortable and had everything we needed for our 11 night stay. It was such a treat to be able to wake in such beautiful surroundings and wander through the amazing garden before breakfast which, by the way, was a delicious selection of fruit, juices, cakes and pastries. The garden is an awesome attraction in itself; a huge collection of cacti, aloe and other varieties of succulents and palms from all over the world arranged in an intriguing maze that allowed us to find new perspectives on the plants and even places we hadn't discovered after 10 days! The bar serves good food reasonably priced and the most amazing signature cactus cocktail which is made using the fruit from the gardens. If you'd like a hotel that feels like home from home with beautiful surroundings and wonderful people this is the perfect place. We left feeling totally inspired and would love to visit again one day.…
7th time to Ischia but 1st time staying at Ravino. From the moment we arrived and the family & their lovely team all came out to welcome us, we knew the stay would be great. However it exceeded all expectations. the first night we ate at the bar and had the most delicious Parmigiana Aubergine. So good we asked for 2nds!....The room was spacious, worth plenty of towels, crockery etc. Everything we needed for a fabulous holiday and even though the weather let us down on a couple of days, the accommodation and grounds meant we always had something. to do & space to still relax. Edith, Luca, Angelina & the team were lovely & by the time we left, we felt they were friends. Already booked for next year
A botanical gardens that's also a family home where the garden is the story of someone's life told in cacti and incredible plants. A beautiful haven where you can really relax and feel special. Great facilities, lovely rooms, beautiful food and really reasonable prices. Totally recommended!
It is really difficult to rate Villa Ravino since it has 3*, 4*, and 5* elements. Perhaps it would be the best to segment the review in segments. 5*: micro-location Villa Ravino is located within a small, yet beautiful botanical garden, allowing you to read a book under a flowering lemon tree, have a cup of coffee in the small caffeteria, overlooking the cactuses (which constitute the majority of the garden). Also, it is walking distance (10-15 minutes) from Forio centre, which is convenient as well. 4*: spa facilities It is very nice that they have an external pool. It is a small one, and was unfortunately too cold in the beginning of May. The internal thermal pool is a plunging pool; you sit in it and wait for the times when they let hot thermal spring water flow into it. Massages are done by a lady who comes from the town; she is doing a good job. 3*: apartments Very, very outdated. Think 70s, not only in design, but also furniture age. I can't understand why owners of such places can't invest a few euros, go to Ikea and buy matching clothes' hangers, and some kitchen utensils that actually work (we had one knife to cut everything, it was not sharp at all, and the blade was falling off the handle). We (#14) also didn't have much of a view of anything (except the courtyard), but there are rooms with a better position. To me, the first two criteria are more important than the third, so it is quite possible we will return some day.…
