We arrived well before check-in time, in the hope of storing our suitcases, but after a welcome drink, we were told that our room was ready and we were able to go to it and unpack.
On unpacking, we discovered that we'd forgotten the mobile phone charger and went to reception to ask where we could buy one. We were lent the receptionists personal charger, and later on, another member of staff drove us to the local Hypermarket and helped us purchase a new one (I'm sure you will appreciate that navigating through a hyper market, not in your home country, is quite daunting, and so the assistance given was invaluable).
Each morning the receptionist asked where we were going and each morning arranged a lift to the local railway station for us. Each evening they asked us if we'd had a good day, and seemed genuinely interested in what we'd done.
Sunday was International Women's Day, and the manager gave my wife a bunch of flowers and some chocolates - so thoughtful.
We were made to feel exceptionally welcome and I don't think it would have been possible for any of the hotel staff to have made us feel more welcome.
We do intend to return to the Pompeii region of Italy sometime in the future, and will definitely be choosing the Costa Hotel
We ate in the hotel and OMG that ravioli was amazing..
Next day husband got a cake a candle and an big happy Birthday from the staff.. he thought this was great btw to say hes a grumpy old man :)
Next day we went to the ruins for his birthday.. the lady (owner? Sorry) and her lovely fella took us in their very cool Italian mini .. and collected us (husband loved this)..
The young girl behind the desk is wonderful made loads of calls to find (still missing) case... thank you xx
Oh and the little cute dog .. unfortunately speaks Italian so tends to ignore you if you call him in English:)
Brilliant experience from start to finish thank you so much
Lisa and Gavin :)
The room was quiet and very clean. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. If I ever return to Pompeii, I will certainly stay here again.
P.S:
1) based on my experience, in January it may be rather cold sometimes, and rain is frequent;
2) there's a pizzeria at the intersection of via Ponte Persica and via Provinciale Ripuaria, called Trammiere. It's only 5-10 min walk from Costa Hotel. I ordered two pizzas to-go, waited for 30 min or so (because they seem to have a lot of orders in the evening), but it was totally worth it. The chef who makes pizzas is a really extraordinary person. Believe me, you will not forget this place if you visit it.
Dinner was served to me in an outer courtyard area and suffice to say it was delicious.
The room was comfortable and clean.
The hotel is so clean!
The staff is so amazing and kind!
The lady at the reception was very helpful,
She provided us with advice on where and how to buy tickets, what to see in the area.
On our first night, the restaurant was not open, but they opened it just for us and prepared dinner for us, which was very delicious!
The time spent there was absolutely fantastic, I would go back anytime! Couldn't it be tomorrow? :D
The hotel it’s self is nicely decorated with a mix between traditional ceramics and met with a modern touch.
The rooms are clean, good looking and well ventilated, not once did I have a hot and sweaty night as the air-con was top notch and kept me cool which was needed in 30 degree heat at night!
All the staff are friendly and helpful.
If you’re lucky you will find Nino, the cute little daschuand waiting to say hi to you at the door!
Will definitely be visiting again!
