Detailed Reviews
This is just a wonderful hotel. The facilities are bright and airy, with a beautiful garden in the rear of the hotel protected from the noise and bustle of the street. The staff was friendly and helpful, and provided afternoon snacks to accompany your drink. The breakfast was superb - it would be hard to ask for a wider selection. Important to us was free parking provided by the hotel, so we could see Pompeii without worrying about the car. If you want a really nice hotel immediately next to the ancient Pompeii, this is the place for you.

Stayed here on a Sunday night, communication was great with the team as was our welcome on arrival.
On Sunday evening the main Street is shut due to everyone being out and dining on the street to our cab had to drop us 50m or so away from hotel which was no issue at all.
The rooms were clean and all the covid protections have been taken so nothing to worry about here. THE BED was so comfy had an amazing sleep and breakfast covered all the bases so was happy with that
We made the unfortunate mistake of not checking Pompeii ruins were open and since covid the ruins are shut on a Monday which was the only real reason we stayed here.
If the ruined had be open you are located right near the amphitheatre entrance however the entrance you need for any tours is the other end so 1/1.5km wall which isn't far at all.
Room talked of a mountain view and you can sort of see it if not blocked by some trees but I have added a picture so you can see yourself. This was taken from the balcony which was a great little spot to stand and people watch while my fiance got ready

Hotel Forum is delightfully located just about 20 meters from the Anfiteatro entrance to the Pompeii Ruins. In spite of its close proximity to all the comings and goings of many tourists under normal circumstances, we found it to be quiet, very comfortable, welcoming and the perfect location for our 2 night stay in Pompei. (Note: As I understand it, the old city is Pompeii and the new city is Pompei, with only one βiβ.) We were very fortunate to visit in June 2020 shortly after the country opened up for tourists from some countries. What a treat! The hotel is not only right by the entrance but also just steps from many shops and restaurants, their beautiful Cathedral and central square and an easy walk from the Pompei station or the Pompei Santuario station. When you enter the hotel from the street, you pass a number of potted plants and trees and then turn the corner into a park-like courtyard in front of the reception. It was very pleasant and there are a number of places to sit and enjoy your surroundings.
Be careful when you plan your trip which train you get on from Naples AND which station you exit. This hotel is not so close to the Pompeii Scavi station. Currently, all entrances to the ruins must be made from the Anfiteatro Portal and exit through the Pompeii Scavi Portal. There are numerous discussions of the Circumvesuvius train and the Campania Express on the various forums and we were sufficiently warned but we took it anyway. For us, in June, due to COVID19 restrictions, it was clean enough and not too crowded. This is evidently not the usual. Both are old and rickety but will get you to these places. One thing we learned was that the Circumvesuvius has 2 lines and only one of them, the one destined for Sarno, will take you to Pompei Santuario. All of that said, if you want to avoid all the confusion and have the means, just hire a taxi.
At Hotel Forum we enjoyed a nice breakfast in their dining area, nothing to shout out about but plenty to get us going for the day, which was critical for all the walking. The rooms are very modern and nicely appointed. Some of the hotel is currently under renovation but that did not affect us at all. They did not start (noisy) work until after 0900 and we were gone all day so it was not an issue. Our room had obviously been recently renovated and we enjoyed the fruits of their labors very much. We did not have a coffee making option within our room which would have been nice but it was not a reason not to stay in this little oasis of a hotel. Off of our good sized balcony was nice greenery and we could see into the distance which is always calming. Our view was not of the mountains or anything in particular but it was pleasant. Hotel Forum turned out to be an excellent choice. I hope you like it too.

Highly recommended. I stayed here for two nights because I was very interested in seeing Pompeii's archaeological park, and this hotel is perfectly located across the road from the less crowded entrance gate. My hotel room was spacious and impeccably clean; I appreciated that the floors were cool tile, which felt very comfortable after a hot day outdoors. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the two types of sflogliatelle which I sampled liberally! I also had lunch in the garden, accompanied by various cats who live on the grounds.
If you take public transportation here, choose the Trenitalia train from Naples, which leaves you at the station that serves the modern town of Pompeii. The hotel is an easy 10-15 minute walk from this station. In contrast, the Circumvesuviana train station is called Pompeii Scavi/Villa dei Misteri and, while it is convenient to the main/crowded park entrance, it is a 20 minute walk from the hotel.
I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for five nights in January, using Hotel Forum as a base for exploring the ruins (Pompei, Herculaneum, Oplontis), Naples, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. The Hotel is on the main street in Pompei at the amphitheater entrance to the ruins, but set back from the street in a private courtyard with a large secluded garden. 15 minutes walk to the Pompei scavi station of the Circumvesuviana train, providing a very convenient way to get around without a car. The rooms are large, attractive (particularly the junior suite facing the garden) and amazingly quiet. The rooms facing the street with views of the ruins and Vesuvius have double exterior doors, nearly eliminating all street noise. The staff are pleasant and helpful, speaking excellent English. Special thanks to Elena. Breakfast is quite good as is the restaurant for lunch or dinner, but some of the many other nearby restaurants seem to offer a little more value for the money. The hotel would be exceptionally pleasant during non-winter months when you can use the balconies and terraces and meals are taken in the garden. Overall a very comfortable hotel at a fair price.

The Hotel Forum is ideally located right by the amphitheater entrance to the ruins and represents terrific value for money. The rooms are clean and modern, the staff is super helpful and the lovely outdoor space is a welcome oasis in the heart of Pompei. Thoroughly recommended.

This was a great find. We only stayed one night, but it was a beautiful hotel. Set back from the busy Main Street, very close to the entry to Pompeii it was really surprising to find the hotel and grounds were so quiet.
We had a delux room which really was delux, not like some others which claim this name. Fitted out to high standards, with plenty of space, a huge king size bed with super comfy mattress & pillows . The room was soundproofed so we didnβt hear a thing outside. The air con was excellent even though it was 38C outside! Very large shower room with touch sensor zoned lighting. It had clearly been recently renovated with modern style.
The rest of the hotel was also very nicely presented. The restaurant was quiet but we were glad we decided to eat there. The pasta dishes were generous, fresh and really good. The host was very helpful and friendly, brought lovely bruschetta free as a starter and when our chosen wine was unavailable upgraded for the same price. Home made limoncello to finish was great. Not as cheap as the fast food outside but the extras and quality difference meant it was good value.
Iβd highly recommend this hotel and will use again if we come back to Pompeii.

This hotel is well located in the city of Pompeii, across the street from an entrance to the archaeological ruins, near lots of restaurants and shops, convenient access to the hike up mount Vesuvius crater, and easy day trips to Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, and Naples.
We had the hamman suite and loved it, very spacious and luxurious. The buffet breakfast is excellent, the staff are very helpful, the hotel grounds are beautiful with lots of fruit trees and although very quiet even tho itβs in the centre of the city.
Our favourite hotel on a month long European trip.

The hotel is very convenient to visit Pompeii and take tours to Mt. Vesuvius from the local tour providers. Our room was impeccable, and as birders, we enjoyed spending time on the balcony seeing new species! Dinner in the hotel gardens, under the lemon trees and grape arbors, was both delicious and beautiful. Staff were also friendly and very helpful.

We loved the location, in the middle of the new city of Pompeii. Good to go for a short stroll, to find places to eat and do a bit of shopping after visiting the ruins. The room we had was good, modern and services very good quality. The breakfast was good, with fresh organic juice, good coffee and fresh pastries, on top of the usual eggs and others.

I believe it was from 7:30 to 10.
Pompeii has two stations. The main station is about 5 minutes from the hotel, very close. The local train station which is the slow train to Sorrento and Naples is about 20 minutes tops. Easy walks both of them. Good footpaths
Only takes 5-6 minutes to walk from the Forum hotel to the Train station
Depends. We use MyTaxi App in Rome so it may be prudent to check if it works in Pompei/Naples. It is like Uber and linked to your debit/credit card.
