My second time at this hotel and it didn't disappoint. It was just as good as I remembered. The room was very spacious and the decor was very in keeping with the area. The breakfast was lovely with enough choice to please even the fussiest eater! The views from the restaurant of Pompei are amazing. All the staff we encountered were polite, professional and very helpful.

We booked the cheapest possible room and it was clean and functional (although the fridge was not working, but we did not mind). So we were pretty much satisfied with it considering the relatively low price we paid for it. The staff was friendly and helpful, they had the hairdryer fixed when we reoprted the problem. The room had a mini balcony too overlooking the inner garden. The most annoying thing was the big parrot that was kept in a cage in the inner garden, because it made very loud "queeks" at random intervals that completely torpedoed our afternoon nap. The best aspect of the hotel imho is the view from the breakfast lounge: it is overlooking the Pompei excavation site that is right acrioss the street from the hotel. Also, one of the main entrances to the excavation site is very near ('1 minute walk) from the hotel, and the city center is also very close ('6 minute walk). So the hotel's location is pretty much perfect. The breakfast was okay: there was a wide selection of pastries, but I only liked one of them. Eggs, bacons were present, but the were quite cold, I did not like them much that way. The coffee machine provided mediocre coffee. …

The room was very nice very clean. The staff were really good. The downside for me was that my bed was two singles pushed together so not very comfortable as turning in the night can fall through one and the loud music and noise outside at night until midnight not so bad if you not up early. However I would stay again.

We stayed in the Hotel Del Sole for 6 nights in March, the hotel location is absolutely perfect for visiting not just the ruins but Naples and Herculaneum both only 45 minutes away on the train Vesuvius by bus or local tours is 60 minutes away a much quieter and calmer than the noisy neighbour Napoli. The lovely reception staff speak English 🙂 the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast is varied and plenty and you get to eat your breakfast overlooking the Pompeii ruins and Vesuvius what could be better than that. We book our first night in the Hotels Varnelli restaurant but loved it so much that we rebooked for almost every night, the waiters especially Salvatore are very informative and their recommendations are worth checking out 😋. This was our first time in Italy and the hotel and staff made our stay a memorable one… I would definitely recommend you consider booking 🙂. …

We stayed here with our tour group of 12. Husband and I enjoyed this hotel. We liked the lovely dining room upstairs, the food was good and view fantastic. Service was good. Clean and tidy room. We had no view or nice outlook from our window. Only stayed for two nights.

First of all, I have learned a lesson. Budget hotels in Italy are not the same as the UK. Just because you can get a good, clean comfy room at £35 a night at a Premier Inn the same does not apply in Italy it would seem. Upon checking in the reception is lavish, but this looks to be the only area they have spent money on. Our family room for 5 of us was £678 for 5 nights. the double mattress was not fit for anyone to sleep on. it was so thin you could feel every single spring. Throughout, all the rooms needed a fresh coat of paint (pictures below). I dont think there was one wall without a mark of some description. Putting a family room on the street side is a big mistake. It is LOUD. continual traffic throughout the night and a lovely 4am wake up call with street cleaners going up and down for what felt like an eternity. The shower head (as pictured) needs replacing. A power shower it aint!! the whole shower unit is old and needs replacing. it doesn't drain away at all, our initial thought was that it was blocked that's how long it takes. After the first night and having had just about 2 hours sleep, I wanted to leave but we were stuck as could not find an alternative hotel with availability for 5 of us. No Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The constant dripping noise that starts at 2am in one of the rooms was enough to make me want to kill someone. All in all over the 5 nights i probably managed about 15 hours sleep in total. It totally marred our experience of Italy. If this review makes even one person reevaulate where they stay it would have been worth it. Do not waste your money, even on a budget spend more money and stay somewhere nicer. I wouldn't rate this as a hotel, it would barely be a motel in my opinion. Extremely disappointed all round :-(…

Excellent location, friendly staff but a bit disorganised. We were given two balcony rooms as we requested but there was no furniture on either so we couldn’t enjoy sitting there in the lovely weather. We asked several times for chairs but they never arrived. We were provided with kettles, as requested in advance. The garden could be a bonus but was very untidy and littered with broken furniture and barbecue equipment. Very clean and good quality linen and towels.

Very easy to park with the private parking. The Room was simple, a little bit too old but quiet and fresh with the AC. The breakfast is not good compare to others hotels, too simple and the was not a lot of choice (but nice view). We take the option with the picnic for the lunch and it was very good : sandwiches with good bread and nice ham, water and dessert.

I made reservations through Booking.com where I confirmed one suite and a standard double for 1 night. I actually wanted 2 suites but non of the websites had a second suite available. Contacted the hotel directly and they said they had 2nd suite available and once I got to the hotel they will upgrade me. They were quick to respond which was impressive. We visited Pompeii middle of last month - July 2022. It was a 30 minutes drive from Naples airport where we had hired a car. Check-in was quick and easy. Hotel del Sole had kept their word and gave us suite in fact they gave us a better deal which was a Superior Suite with hot tub. That made me really happy. Hotel parking is at the back of the hotel with no extra charge. Both suites were beautifully decorated in ancient Pompeii theme which was very impressive and had a balcony. Hotel is across the ruins which makes the location a perfect one. We were out most of the afternoon and evening so can’t comment on their lunch/dinner however we did have their continental breakfast which was fine. The restaurant was on the 4th floor which had a beautiful view of the ruins. If we visit Pompeii again I will stay here again as it was a great choice.…
