It's located close to Manzoni which is a wonderful area of the city and centrally located. There are not many amenities offered though and the wi-fi rarely works properly.I'd recommend it to people that are on a budget. Marlene is a very nice host though.

Not far to all the main attractions of Rome and the landlady will point out all the places to visit. Very clean and spacious room with the use of a small kitchen to make tea/coffee, toast etc. Unfortunately we did not have breakfast at the accommodation as was not available when we stayed. Instead we were given a voucher for...

We stayed for four nights, our first trip to Rome. Marlene is an amazing host. Gave us tips on what to see, best times to go and wonderful conversation over breakfast. We stayed in the ensuite room, which was spacious, full of light and comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was lovely. The bed was comfortable and their was plenty of wifi...

B&B Marlu is a good hotel, at a convenient location. With two metro stations nearby, you are never too far from Rome's attractions. We stayed there from 20th-22nd July 2013 and had a great time in Rome. Marlene helped us a great deal in letting us know about the places to visit, as well as the best way to get...

1 minute walk to bus, tram and metro, 10 minute walk to Coloseum. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Nice italian breakfast with coffee, croissant, buns, yoghurt and juice. And the host, Marlene, is really super, she knows her business and she will help with your stay in Rome. When we visited Marlu B&B there was an au-pair who...

If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay, I would recommend Marlu B & B. We booked a double and a single that shared a bathroom and it worked out great. It is close to the metro, a safe area, and the rooms were just what we needed. We don't spend a lot of time in a hotel/b...

The Marlu is about 15 minutes walk from the Termeni main rail station, or you can take the subway which lets you off only a couple minutes away from the Marlu. The area is not the most attractive but I felt safe enough and unconcerned. Marlene, the owner, is very friendly and gave me good advice on what to do...

Loved the friendly host. She told us where to get the best gelato and good coffee. The location of this B&B is fairly close to the Termini. Took us about 10 mins on foot. Breakfast OK. Good shower :).

It was such a pleasure staying at the B&B Marlu during our 3 day visit in Rome. Marlene and Marinita were very friendly and courteous. Our room and the shared bathroom were spotlessly clean, and the breakfast each morning was perfect fuel for a day exploring Rome. The other guests we met at the B&B were very contentious, and one...

I have just three most wonderful days in Rome and two first class nights in the Marlu B&B. We had such a great experience in Rome. Marlene welcomed us to her B&B with a cold drink and a map. She is the most lovely hostess and seemed personally invested in ensuring we had the best experience in Rome. She orientated...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
