Due to COVID, we had to delay our trip to the Monte Cenci for 18 months, but the wait was totally worth it! This is a small boutique hotel at the edge of the Jewish area in Central Rome, within walking distance of most of the main sights. But just talk to the manager, Paolo, to learn how to see not just the tourist Rome, but the REAL Rome. He is full of great tips to see and feel the real Rome, both the ancient and the modern. The whole staff, which clearly all think of themselves as family, are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The hotel hides up a small cobbled street. You think you are in the wrong place! But walk up the slight hill and look to the right, an unassuming glass door leads to a staircase up to reception. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the roof garden area is a great place for a glass of prosecco or a light snack in the late afternoon. While we were there, breakfast was being served in this area, which makes a lovely start to the day. Choose this hotel for your trip to Rome and you will not be disappointed.

The staff tries to be very responsive and positive. They were genuinely nice. But they didn't acknowledge that the room we were assigned had poorly functioning AC. It went on for a while with them trying to make "adjustments" and ruined our stay. If only they had moved us from the start. Maybe we were just unlucky. Many visitors might not notice it as it seems to be a problem mainly during the daytime when most visitors are probably out touring. Until it was a problem even at night and we had to move rooms at 11PM. We were moved into a smaller room meant for a single person but at least it had good AC. They said that they were fully booked but we could see that the larger room next to ours wasn't occupied. Maybe its A/C wasn't working in that room either and they were afraid to give it to us. Who knows.

My wife and I stayed here in August of 2021 and can not say enough good things about our experience. The place was immaculate and fresh. The staff went out of there way to make our stay memorable. Everything from food and drinks to the knowledgeable staff was an A+. I highly recommend to anyone traveling to Rome

I was thee in August 2021 and was concerned about the service as I heard many hotels have downsized after the pandemic. The hotel was a great surprise, everything was working perfectly and the staff was polite and very helpful. The location is excellent and the roof top bar was perfect to have a drink and unwind after a day of touring and exploring. Great job!

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Monte Cenci mostly because of the staff. Everyone was super helpful (especially Paolo the manager and Michele) and made us feel welcome and well accommodated. The room images matched expectation and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was pre-scheduled and served to you on the terrace. Terrace views were mediocre, but overall the hotel meets expectation and is a good value for the price.
