After spending 9 hours travelling to Rome my girlfriend and I wanted to simply check into the hotel, relax for a few hours and see what Rome had to offer. After calling the hotel and asking for directions, we were told that we should ring him back so he could give us directions once at termini station. When this call...

The Domus Romana owner is great. Valerio is very helpful and gave us many specila advises. The bed and breakfast is in a very central position, near to the ancient walls, just 1 minute from underground metro station Manzoni (line A) and 5 minutes from Colosseum. The central train station is just 15 minutes walking and 2 minutes by underground....

I had a good stay in Domus Romana, the manager Mr Valerio was very nice and kind, a tipical young Roman guy. The room was comfortable and for 2 night stay was the best choise to have a good and clean room at a resonable price. Thanks Valerio

The pros. for this place is its location. It is just between the Manzoni and San Laterano metro stations, and there are also trams passing near by. For those who choose to walk, the Colloseum is about 20 minutes away. The place it self is an appartment on the basement floor consisting of 3 rooms, each with it wc and shower....

Domus Romana is a refurbished covnet with tonnes of quant appeal. We chose this hotel for its price and its location. The hotel is just off Via Nazionale and walking distance from the Colosseo and 20 min walk from the Termini. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are small but cosy. Some rooms are not well air-conditioned.

We chose this B&B for its price and its location. The B&B is off the main street about a block and a half from a metro station two stops from the Termini. The staff are very nice and helpful. The room is small but how much time do you spend in your room. If you are traveling on a budget...

How can they say that the breakfast is included in the price? We spent two nights in Domus Romana. The first evening, we had two small cakes in a polythene bags for the breakfast, the second evening, there was nothing. You have to share the kitchen with two other bedrooms. The room is in the basement. A small window is...

I would not recommend staying at the Domus Romana B&B. It consists of two rooms in the basement of an apartment building in a not-so-great area (but relatively close to attractions) of Rome. The rooms are extremely dingy, and smell funny. There were dead flies on the bed, which was extremely uncomfortable. The floors were dirty, there were cracked tiles...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
