We stayed in the apartment of Calisto Bed & Breakfast. The Calisto B&B has two locations. One above the Calisto bar...which is a lovely bar, open till late...but I figure if you stay there, you have to bring some earplugs. We stayed in the apartment of Calisto B&B. Which has two rooms, one for 2 and one for 4 persons....

After reading other reviews of the Calisto 6, we were worried on arrival about the noise level travelers had mentioned. Yes, the bar downstairs is noisy with local patrons, but because of the small air conditioner that was in the room, we were able to close the windows and be comfortable all night long. We were well-rested for the next...

the place is in the heart of trastevere, close to the city centre (15 min walk) and to many pubs and restaurants. great for people who like to enjoy rome's nightlife after sightseeing the whole day! however, there's no breakfast, and the towels are not exchanged every day. the place is not cheap at all, but it's really worth it!...

Wonderful location, but that is all. Busy bar downstairs noisy until 03.00 long after bar i closed. Sigaretsmoke comes directly in to your room if your windows are open. Close them, and you will suffocate. So enjoy Rome. You wont get any sleep, that is for sure! No staff available at all. Do not pay in advance, cause you will...

The best of the hotel is the situation, which is excellent. Also the hotel itself is not bad, the room is nice and the hotel is clean, but the bathroom is outside of the room and in our case shared with other rooms. The breakfast is nothing special. As they say in other critics, there is noise at night, in...

This beautiful guest-house makes you feel you have an apartment rather than a room. We shared a quirky 2 bed house with a Spanish couple. We had our own bathroom, a shared kitchen with an excellent coffee maker and a living area that was massive. The house was quirky and suited us perfectly. The location is amazing, we walked everywhere...

We requested a quiet room and got noisiest room right above the "Famous Calisto Bar" (name provided by innkeepers). The innkeepers were definitely invisible after receiving their money. They could care less about their guests! When complaining about the noise the response was equivalent to "oh well". We did see them when were scolded for running the AC on fan...

The hotel is above the bar Calisto..the noise goes on untill 2,00 am. I could not sleep. Noise early in the morning too. The bathroom was not attached to the room as described on the website and was very small...the shower door would not close...the water was not hot enough to get a nice hot shower...and the bathroom stunk.... from...

We got a bit worried when we saw the bar downstairs, but then we were led across the Piazza Santa Maria to an apartment that belonged to the hotel - situated in a very quiet street. We did visit the bar later that night and the street was crowded with people. We were therefore very happy that we could go...

Yep, the bar downstairs is fairly noisy at night on the weekend... so take your airplugs...slept well with my plugs in.....either that, or go to the bar! Bar has really cheap coffee, drinks and icecream and the the locals hang there too, which I loved. Hate being in touristville. Staff leave you alone. Our room was large and really nice...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
