Location: the hotel is about 7-10 minute walk from Termini Station, which is perfect if you're arriving off the Leonardo Express train from FCO Airport. It's a quiet neighbourhood, which looks like quite a residential part of Rome. We felt very safe walking around this area, but note there is no sign outside of the huge wooden doored entrance. It's...

Domus castrense has a great location, just few minutes away from Termini Station. Our room was spacious, tidy and clean. Wifi reception was great as well. Breakfast is served in the room which is not bad at all, its very basic and they only serve sweet stuff like croissant, jam, nutella, yogurt (no bacon or cheese). You decide the night...

I couldn't be happier with our stay at Domus Castrense. Not too busy of a location, just a few doors down from a lovely restaurant that we had dinner at once. The room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast is served in the room, you can choose what drinks you'd like (the orange juice was delicious and I swear the...

Fantastic value. Rooms are bright and modern but on the smaller side. Really nicely decorated. Staff are fantastically friendly. Location is a short 10mins walk to Termni and was close to my conference location at the university. Watch out when arriving as I nearly missed it. It is upstairs in normal building. There is no particular sign just a buzzer....

Great location if you want to be close to Termini or Sapienza University. Large rooms and toilets for the cheap price. Very modern for Italy. However, if i am not doing business at Sapienza, I dont think I will stay here again as there is not much else aside from Termini to make it interesting for a tourist. Set up...

We totally felt at home!!! Nice welcome. We were able to look at the rooms and then choose which one we wanted. Great location near Termini station. The breakfast served is typically Italian. Thanks to Massimo and his colleagues!!

Stayed for 4 nights - what a great base to explore a Rome! The room was clean, quiet, modern and very comfortable. Breakfast is brought to your room at a chosen time in the morning. Alfredo was a great help in orientating us with the local sites and metro. Easy 10 minute walk to Termini, though we found we could...

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.

“The hotel is about halfway down Viale dell'Universita behind 2 large brown wooden doors. Look out for the number 25 on the right of the door and you've found it. Press the intercom for access.”

“The hotel is spread across a few different floors in the same building, they begin on floor 2 (where reception is located) and go to floor 4... So I'd recommend a room on floor 2, to save the journey! The building has a lift though.”
