The idea to open The RomeHello popped up in my mind a few years ago. Many of the international friends I had met during my own European travels would ask me for suggestions on where to find a cheap and nice place to stay in my home city of Rome. But, even after some research, I didn’t find anything fitting for them. And I thought it was senseless that a city like Rome, with all it has to offer, was kind of prohibitive for young tourists. So as my family has worked in tourism for many years, I decided to involve them in the project of opening a hostel in our city - to make it not only ours but everyone’s. Also, I decided to combine the project with my intention to do something good for the others. So I turned the hostel into a non-profit social enterprise, with the aim of changing the economic thinking of standard companies.

Really terrific Hostel! Room and en suite are top notch and comfortable. I attended the pizza lesson and carbonara lesson in the hostel kitchen each evening with chef Marco which was great fun. These classes with the fac tthere is big common area make it a very easy hostel to make new friends as I was a solo traveller. Staff were very friendly as well and the location is terrific for centre of rome.

This was my very first hostel during my very first solo trip and it did not disappoint! I stayed in a 4 person mixed dorm that was super comfortable and clean! Common areas are great, lots of activities. I did not book any complimentary breakfast but when I decided to try it one day it was no problem at all. For 7 euros you get a great hotel style breakfast. Location is also perfect, close to the station and major attractions. Also close to public transportation. Definitely would recommend!

I spent 3 nights in a female only dorm, and had genuinely one of the best holiday experiences of my life. The hostel is centrally located and the perfect base for exploring the city, with easy access to public transport and most attractions within a comfortable walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and lockable storage. But it was the staff that really made my stay amazing, from the first moment I checked in, they were friendly and welcoming, every time you passed them by, they had a friendly word to say, and were always on hand to answer any queries or concerns. I had a huge issue with my airport transfer, and within 5 minutes they had helped book me a taxi to make sure I didn't miss my flight. This was my first hostel stay and I was a little nervous before I arrived, as a solo female traveller I felt safe and welcomed and I would go back again in a heartbeat,.

We had 2 nights here - then went to Pompeii for a night before returning for another night. Great room for family of 4. Very clean. Good value breakfast. Free luggage storage. Close to station and lovely to be able to check out on our final day but be able to return to collect luggage and have a shower. Good restaurant on site. Friendly and helpful reception team. It felt very well managed and safe. There were a mixture of people staying ( families/ backpackers ..) but it was peaceful at night in the rooms and had a lovely vibe in the communal areas. Good value

When the missus said we were staying in a hostel, I was dreaded it! When we walked in, we were greeted by friendly people and the front desked was being worked by a lovely lady. Very welcoming and friendly. We went to our room and it was, hands down, the cleanest and nicest smelling room we had stayed in through a 17 travel and stay in many places. It was fantastic. The staff are first class, the rooms and whole place was immaculate and it really was a pleasure staying here. Its a great location and I would highly recommend going for early morning walks to miss the large crowds. There is not a thing I could say that is negative about this place. We were able to get a later check out too which was a great help! If I ever visit Rome again, I will be staying here!

We are a family with two tweens. We stayed in a private quad room, and our stay was stellar. The front desk staff was so helpful and kind from the first moment. They stored our luggage for free so we could enjoy the city, made change countless times and filled us in on all the amenities. There is a coin operated washer and dryer on site, full kitchen, water filling machine (ether sparkling or still for twenty cents a half ltr), vending machine, on site restaurant and more. I highly recommend the creamy scrambled eggs if you go for breakfast. They even cleaned our room each day and the front counter is staffed 24/7, so checking out early in the morning was no problem. I can’t say enough good things about this place and its people.

Look no further! This is hands down one of the best hostels I have been to. I booked a private suite and felt like I was staying at a hotel. Top notch and super clean. The staff is beyond friendly and goes out of their way to help you. I stayed for a week and would've stayed longer! Epic vibe and definitely will be back again!
