I stayed here for several weeks, and would definetly stay here again. Location is great, if you prefer a quiet area with less tourists. Trastevere is only a 12 minute walk away (down a quite steep hill). Buses to different locations in city center (including Termini train station) stop right outside the apartement. Tickets are cheap, and sold in the...

You immediately feel at home at Casa Cibella, which is run by the lovely Carla Cibella. The pensione is located in central Rome, in the cosy Monteverde district, with lots of restaurants, cafés and small shops. Cibella's rooms are large, and have a nice view towards a small garden, almost without any noice from the street. You get one of...

Wonderful b&b in a nice residential area with good bus connections (#75, 44) to the centre and great views about 10 minutes walk away at Gianicola. Friendly, knowledgeable hostess. Very good food market only a few minutes walk. I've stayed here 3 times now.

A lovely apartment in the most charming area. The owner is a very nice lady, who is genuinly warm hearted and serviceminded. The Norwegian institute and The American Univerity of Rome is only 3-5 minute walking distance from the apartments. You can take the bus, or walk to the city centre. I recommend walking, so many beautiful things to discover....

Nice clean room with own bathroom near city center of Rome. Room is part of big apartement in an apartment building in Trastevere. The owner is very friendly lady, who is ready to inform you about nice "non-touristic" restaurants in neighbourhood to enjoy real "Romans Rome" or whatever you are looking for. She prepares some ingredients for breakfast and puts...

I had a conference at the American University of Rome which is just 3 minute walking distance from casa cibella. So this was very much perfect for me and my experiences at this hotel was very much good. My family of 4 have stayed at Casa Cibella a number of times and will stay again. We love it. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable providing everything you need. The surrounding area of Monteverde is absolutely gorgeous and access to other noteworthy areas of Rome and sightseeing areas is easy by bus or foot. The owner is warm...

The room was large and furnished with beautiful old furniture (but a recent mattress!), I also had a private bathroom outside the room and a little kitchen corner to make a cup of tea and prepare breakfast as I wanted. Don't forget to print the itinerary before coming (I walked quite a lot before finding it: it was just at...

Very clean and reasonably comfortable B+B, with reasonably sized rooms. Though it is a bit far out of town so make sure you get a bus map! We had two single beds and en-suite shower, with a kitchenette too. Only trouble was the hot water was somewhat erratic (can't believe noone else has mentioned this!!!) - you have to run...

This little B & B is just outside of the hustle and bustle of all the traffic of tourists. Yet... close enough to get to everything! I enjoyed seeing the area of where the true Romans live and not just the tourist spots. There is a great outdoor market just behind the building to get fresh fruit that you can...

    Staying in Monteverde

    Neighbourhood Profile
    Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
