When we decided to return to Rome this year, it was definitely our intent to stay at iQ Hotel. Although they have higher room rates now compared to my last visit in 2010, the hotel has remained steadfast in providing great service. The hotel is ideally located near the Roma Termini. Walking distance actually if you are smart enough to...

My wife and I stayed here in June 2013. We walked back from the Vatican to the hotel while seeing all the sites so it really is nicely located. We were able to walk to the Coliseum and back with ease as well. The rooftop lounge was a nice place to eat and drink while meeting other guests. We were...

iQ Roma is relatively new, with many modern conveniences and a good location. My wife and I took the Leonardo Express train from the airport (FCO) to the Termini Station in Rome (this is a big train station -- I live in New York City, with Penn Station and Grand Central, and the Termini reminds me more of an airport)....

The IQ Hotel in Rome is new and spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. With only one exception, this is a great place to stay while in Rome. From Termini Station, it is a eight block walk or a short taxi ride. Just four blocks East and Four blocks North, directly across from the Rome Opera. ( If...

Great location for the Termini and Metro, clean and modern, nice breakfast, very quiet and we enjoyed our stay. Negatives, our room was smaller than expected (standard double) as we struggled to walk between the bed and the desk, no bath, I am fairly sure there wasn't any air conditioning as it only seemed to have heat, no tea and...

Dear Guests, We are glad to read in your review that you have enjoyed so many aspects of our Hotel and that you might be returning again. Coming to your negative points, we are sorry to learn about them only now. Having been brought to our attention at the time of your stay it would have been our immediate concern...

We recently stayed here for 2 nights upon a friend’s recommendation. It was a very nice, clean modern hotel. It was unfortunately not easy to find via a rental car—try and find your way to the opera house. If you go via Taxi you will find it easily, if you go via the train just head to the opera house...

We have booked 4 nights in Rome at iQRoma. What a great find this hotel has been. The rooms are very modern, with spacious bathrooms and our room overlooks the Teatro Della Opera. It's a 5 min walk to the Termini, and a 10-15 min walk to major attractions. The breakfast on the rooftop is great, lots of choices. There...

If you are after a romantic, luxury hotel slap bang in the middle of Rome with amazing views over the historic centre, a swanky cocktail bar and restaurant, room service, turn down service and porterage then this is not the hotel for you. However if, like us, you were after a clean, modern hotel offering all that you could need,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
IQ is a 4-star hotel, with a twist! Located in downtown Rome, just a short 15 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain or the Colosseum and with Repubblica metro station just 200 metres away, hotels don't get much central than this. IQ guests enjoy free Wi-Fi connection throughout the hotel, a lovely terrace where to unwind overlooking the Opera House, and free access to our gym and sauna. We believe in tailor-made hospitality, so there are vending machines in virtually every floor, where you can buy yourself a bottle of wine, a pack of crisps, a tooth-brush or even an umbrella (not that you'll need it often!), All at very competitive prices. Now that you've found us... Welcome to a whole new hotel experience! IQ STAFF ... more   less
