This place is dynamite. It's clean and well-secured. Alessandro is extremely kind and accommodating, even asking what you like for breakfast. It's located in the Ostiense neighborhood, which we discovered is an awesome area of town. It's a very short walk to the metro also. It got a little noisy on the street at night sometimes but other than that,...

We totally enjoyed our 11 day stay at the Althea Inn thanks to a clean, bright room, comfortable bed and a wonderful terrace. The breakfast delivered each morning by Alessandro was a real treat. The little fridge in the room, stocked with beer, wine and soft drinks for a small charge, had enough room to store some picnic supplies. It...

Thank you Alessandro for hosting us in your B&B! The rooms were clean, well appointed and although not centrally located it is still an easy walk to attractions like the Colosseum. Plus transit is available nearby. Breakfasts delivered to our room were fresh, tasty, and plentiful. Little fridge in the room was very useful. We also loved the terrace for...

My fiance and I stayed at the althea inn for 3 nights in May 2017 and wished we could have stayed longer. Alessandro was an exceptional host very easy to communicate with and brought us breakfast on the terrace every morning . The room was spacious, airy and quiet. A quick walk brings you to the metro station and it's...

Beautifully decorated and clean room in a great neighbourhood with a wonderful terrace for relaxing. Alessandro is very friendly and easy to communicate with. We would definitely come here again! The metro and busses are really close and it's even possible to walk to most of the popular sites within 20 minutes away. Not many tourists in the area, and...

Stayed there 5 nights and loved it. It's very clean, modern, tastefully decorated, spacious (even for 3 girls sharing) and has a beautiful terrace which we had our breakfast every morning. The breakfast was delivered to our room and had great variety of fresh fruit, eggs, cheese, tea/coffee, croissants etc. Very tasty and filled us for the day. The host,...

This is a lovely place to stay if visiting Rome. Just a 20 minute walk from some of Rome's main attractions. The host Alessandro is very helpful and attentive. He brings a delicious breakfast every morning directly to your room which is freshly prepared. Alessandro is clearly someone who cares about attention to detail. The room was absolutely spotless and...

We have just stayed at the Althea inn for 4 nights. We arrived late and Alessandro had arranged a taxi for us from the airport which was super convinent, although slightly higher priced at €50. The location of the apartment is on a side street in a residental block, but this isnt a problem. The area was out of the...

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
