Fantastic stay at Villa Urbani back in November - brilliant position in Trastevere area We were able to walk all over Rome from this glorious boutique style residence. Laura was extremely warm and welcoming and the breakfast each day was more than enough - fruit juices and pastries and cereals and yoghurt etc Meats and cheeses too! We had the...

Posted on behalf of my parents: On a return trip to Rome we chose to again stay at Villa Urbani. It’s a great place to stay in Trastevere. Nestled in a tree lined neighborhood, it includes spacious rooms, wifi, delicious breakfasts and a gracious hostess. After a day of sightseeing it’s nice to return to a villa with an authentic...

We stayed with our toddler for 5 nights and it was perfect. Great location if you like long walks, as most Roman sightseeing places are not fader as 3km. Very clean and well furnished rooms, with comfortable bathroom. Nice and taste full breakfast with fresh bread and croissants, straight from bakery, every morning.

I stayed at villa Urbani for a week in April and have only good things to say. Laura is charming and helpful, from getting the tea I prefer to providing some suggestions of places to visit that I would otherwise have missed. The villa is beautiful, with its stone floors and high ceilings, and the location is convenient for the...

From the ease of making the reservation with Laura Urbani via email, to the arrangement she made to have us picked up at the airport, to the clean, large and welcoming room, the great "neighborhood" feel--all perfect! We were out of the hustle and bustle of Rome but within a very short walk of Trastevere with wonderful restaurants and night...

This is a very refined and elegant villa just up the hill from the Trastevere area with its wonderful bars, restaurants and churches. Staying here is not like being in a hotel, it is more like being one of Laura's guests. There are several walking routes down the hill but only one way back (for us)-taxi! The rank in Via...

Laura arranged for us to be met at Fiumanchino (40 euro) and had booked us into La Scala restaurant in Trastevere for our first evening. She was In Spain our first few days but her son, Gabrielle, looked after us in her absence. We had a large and spacious bedroom with excellent en-suite facilities, TV, Wi-Fi. We would have liked...

Just got back home with our friends from 6 days Rome (5 nights at B&B Urbani). Laura Urbani was very friendly and helpful with all our questions. At breakfast she was there but always in the background, letting you enjoy a good breakfast. My husband says the cappuccino was the best he ever had. At the beginning Laura only had...

We chose Villa Urbani based on the location but we were pleasantly surprised with the simply beautiful accommodations. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the host was gracious and very helpful. The breakfast was just the right start for the day. A large common room was perfect for our family to get together to start and end the day-...

The photos of Villa Urbani don't do it justice. It is more beautiful in person than in the photos. Gorgeous property and the rooms are large, spacious and very comfortable. Loved having the common area for our family. One of the best places that I've stayed in while traveling in Europe. Location is very convenient and within a reasonable walking...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
