We loved Relais Maddalena. The room was lovely and overlooked the Plaza, which although could be noisy at night that is part of the character. Loved that people are walking around until 2 a.m. We could see the Pantheon from our balcony. It was incredibly hot when we visited and this was one of the few rooms we were in...

We loved this little hotel on the second and third level of a 17th C building opposite the eponymous church in a little square. Walking distance to everything and scores of great cafes, restaurants and boutique shops within 5 minutes walk. We purposely asked for a quiet room that looked into a tiny functional internal courtyard but it was whisper...

Lovely innkeepers, great location, many nearby restaurants and just a great vibe in the neighborhood. Exceeded expectations. One of the best hotel stays we've had in Europe. We had a room with a view of the piazza, with the baroque façade of the church just across the way. The room was quiet, well-appointed, clean and large. Bathroom was thoroughly modern...

This was our first time in Rome, and upon arrival to the hotel, it is strange to find a big old door which resembles nothing like a hotel! Fortunate for us we had a private car take us to the hotel from the airport so we didn't have the struggle of finding it. The hotel was simply wonderful, the suite...

We got to the relais around midnight, as other reviewers have noted the door isn't well signposted. When you're tired after a long day of travelling and it's dark it isn't ideal. There is a surcharge for arriving later than 10pm which we knew about and Francisco was very helpful. Room was nice, breakfast had good variety and the hotel...

It is not easy to find. Nothing to identify its presence save a small sign on one side of the door. The door is locked and you need to ring the bell to summon assistance. The rooms are OK, but the stuff in the bathroom is more like a travel lodge than a hotel, take your own. Also, the bathroom...

I won't repeat what others have already said. This is a very unique hotel experience in Rome. It's more like staying in a private apartment with staff during the day. You are pretty much on your own after hours, but this wasn't a problem. The owner lives nearby and is only a phone call away if anything comes up. Although...

Our room felt like we had our own apartment in the centre of Rome. It was extremely comfortable & spacious with a modern bathroom. A perfect base to explore the nearby sights. The proprietor Fransisco was extremely helpful & gave us some helpful restaurant recommendations. A very personal experience. We will definitely return!!!

Stayed at the Relais Maddalena - excellent boutique hotel just 10 rooms with a fantastic location @ 100m from the Pantheon and right in the heart of the medieval city centre. Good breakfast - excellent staff - privately owned. Trip if you want a quieter room ask for one at the side or back as the Piazza can get a...

Relais Maddalena stands right in the middle of everything! This cozy 6 room guest house is the ideal couch for those who love to get to Rome on a weekend for a romantic getaway or a quick tour of the historical centre.
