We stayed 5 nights at Kiara B&B and loved it!! The location is excellent- in the heart of Trastevere, which is a hip neighborhood in Rome (walking distance to the center, and also close to the Tram and buses.) The B&B is a one large apartment which was split to 3 small but very cute units. Our unit was very...

Trastevere (the neighbourhood where this B&B is located) is the place to stay if you want to stay close to the very center but in touch with a more genuine Rome. Although it is a little bit away from the monumental (read 'crazy') parts of Rome, you can easily reach the places you want either by walking (eg, river, Vatican,...

Kiara is friendly and helpful. Her place is charming, our room was huge and it was located close to the trams and bus stops that take you right into the heart of Rome.

My husband and I stayed at Kiara B&B on our first trip to Rome and I wasn't disappointed in any way. The room was very large, and it was actually more of a two room suite for the price of one. Modern decor, clean, has all the amenities you need for a short stay. The location is wonderful, you are...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

“Go to the piazza a block away. In the morning there's a market with great fruits and vegetables. In the afternoon it's just a place where people hang out. Get a slice of pizza and sit there, watch the Roman life go by.”
