This was my 60th birthday present from my husband the B & B is on a busy little road during the day but it's quite at night the staff are very nice and all have good English and as I have practically no Italian this was great. The rooms are clean and well presented with modern bathrooms and a small...

A pretty good hotel. Very close to the main Rome train station. The whole building does not belong to the hotel and shares it with private residences. Reception and a few rooms are located on the second floor whereas other rooms are on the third. My room itself was actually very nice although a bit small. The major issue I...

Correct B&B but quite hard to find in a small street near Termini station. The area of Termini is not very beautiful but the B&B itself is correct. The room was clean, breakfast correct but nothing more. We had problems with the smell in our room coming from the food shop in the ground floor located in the same building....

First impressions were, I need to book somewhere else. However if you are shopping for rooms in this price range, the inn is clean, tidy and good value. Breakfast is simple but with some choice. Hot shower whenever required. Not the best location as it is not central but it is 2 mins walk from metro station, 15 mins from...

This place is great to use as a base to explore Rome. Lots of things walking distance or the metro station is super close. Big rooms, nice breakfast and friendly staff. Air conditioning optional but needed in the heat. Nothing luxury but great value for the price. Hard to find initially so note down exact location and beware there are...

We were there just for 1 night. We booked the hotel by booking at a special price ( 50% discount) out of 63 euros. Well, honestly we expected more for the given money (considering that the total price is double compared to the price we paied). The room was good but nothing special. The bathroom was clean with a big...

The room was clean. The location is good, very close to the subway, and not too far from Rome Termini Station (around 1 station from Termini station, 10 minutes walking). But there is nothing much nearby, but there are some mini marts (maybe Asian minimarts). The lady at the reception was pleasant and friendly, she also suggested us where should...

I visited Rome for 5 days and was looking for the best deal in the centre of the city. I didn't take the chiepest option thus I was waiting from Santa Maria Inn for a better quality for this price. Breakfast is a joke, very poor quality! It is better to have one good cookie than pastry from a freezer....

Rocked up at around 7pm and the fella told us we were late. Apparently when we booked it we told them we would be there at 11am. We later found out that there isn't anyone on reception unless they are expecting a guest. This is the main and only reason we have given it a 4 star and not a...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
