This hotel is very nice compared to Rome standards, it's a 7-10 minute walk away from the Vatican. There is also slot of restaurants near by to try great Italian food. There is a beautiful roof top garden bar which offers drinks and snacks. The wifi works great and all the staff are super friendly and helpful.

We were, unfortunately, overly underwhelmed by this hotel. Our room- a superior double- was very small and we were woken up at all hours by telephones, talking and banging! The walls are so thin you can hear conversations between rooms. Our window overlooked some apartments which meant we couldn't have the curtains open at all as there was zero privacy....

The hotel is located in between Castel St Angelo and the Vatican. There are some lovely bars and restaurants just a few minutes away and some great shops for the more religious souvenirs. The rooms are not what you see in the pictures, at least ours wasn't. It was a bit shabby and tired looking but was comfortable and had...

We booked the Hotel primarily for the location. It was situated near the Vatican and therefore allowed us to walk around an area we had only briefly visited previously, and secondly it was within walking distance of the Stadio Olimpico for the Italy Wales Six Nations Rugby match which we were attending. Ticked both boxes- all good, or so we...

Excellent room, service was all fantastic. The view is amazing, straight out an unobstructed open window to the Vatican from the 5th floor. The 515 suite was wonderful with a jet tub by the open window (with tricky buttons, but it works). Some of the bathroom faucets were a little dated, but who needs a shower when the jet tub...

I stayed at this hotel at the end of January and we were pleased to found out that it is very comfortable, with excellent service and a very nice ubication, really close to the Vatican. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful view from the terrace restaurant wich had a 360 degrees view of the city.

We got moved here upon arriving at the sister hotel which was closed for refurbishment (no one told us) This hotel was full so they put us up in a family room next door. It was a big room pretty cold and the heating not great. Room was clean and staff changed the towels every day and cleaned the room....

As I was due to attend a ceremony in St Peter’s Square, I chose this hotel on account of its proximity to the Vatican. It is also quite close to the Castel Sant’Angelo, with a statue of the eponymous archangel, Michael, crowning the building. It was originally constructed to serve as Emperor Hadrian’s mausoleum. The hotel was well chosen and...

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
