The Hotel Alexis is a typical italian two star hotel near the Termini train station. It's easy to get there from the airport, and there are nice little pizzerias, food shops, gelaterias in this area. If you don't mind walking, you can go to the city center on foot, but it's more comfrotable if you use the metro or the... More

I was impressed with this hotel; excellent location (5 minutes from main train station), staff very welcoming, clean room with en suite shower room. If it's luxury you're after might not be suitable - it's basic, and you can hear a fair amount from next door rooms, but I really enjoyed staying here thanks to the very helpful staff, being... It is definitely not a 2* Hotel - Shared bathrooms and not clean at all. The rooms were not clean enough - all the walls were dirty - old furniture everywhere. The room was on the third floor and no elevator!! Breakfast was served on a cold room and included just one croissant and one coffee. Not even water. Great... More

The hotel alexis is more like a private apartment block than a hotel, apon check in you are given access codes for the building and floors and room keys. I stayed in december (off season) and never really saw any of staff (fine by me). The hotel is a five minute walk from the main station termini, from which you... More

My wife and I traveled to Rome to catch a cruise from the port of Civitavecchia. We selected the Hotel Alexis because it was reasonably close to the Termini Station (easy walking distance with luggage), the price, and the included breakfast. When we arrived after an overnight flight we had to ring a bell several times to get the receptionist... More

Tucked away behind the awning of a small family hotel in the centre of Rome, is a magic 'hobbit land' of cosy Art decor' having imaginative and artistic touches in the flower arangements, unusual sculptures, paintings and here and there beautifully painted doors. Each room has its own character, simply furnished with care and taste. The wizardry lies in the shining... More

Corinne, Lyn, and rest of staff were extremely helpful for finding my way around town and the location was ideal (next to Termini station) for someone who wanted to go all over Rome. Hotel was perfectly clean and made for a comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was good, but doesn't start until 8:30. The lack of an elevator wasn't an issue... More

This hotel's staff was great. Corrine, Lyn, Reymond and Alexandria did everything in their power to make my stay pleasant and comfortable. They went over the top in trying to help with any request I made. Such people make a hotel a home.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
