Lovely hotel, very helpful staff and all round enjoyed our family holiday (8 of us). Kettles and cups were provided in the rooms when asked. Location was excellent - walked everywhere, Vatican Museum and Colosseum 30mins. Slept very well, you wouldn't know you were in Rome's centre. Hotel very clean. My children, in 20s, shared the apartment which was very...

We stayed for six nights; it was perfect for us. Hotel Portoguesi is in a convenient spot, but more than that, it has an old world feel. Lovely helpful staff. Fabulous shower. We chose a junior suite-I'd recommend it if you are traveling with a mate. Enough room to breathe and settle down after a day exploring. The church next...

We stayed for two nights. The hotel was located in a very safe and convenient location. We walked everywhere easily. The gentleman at the desk made an excellent suggestion for dinner. The breakfast was pleasant (finally an egg for breakfast in Europe...although boiled!). The rooms are smaller, more classically decorated. The bathroom was updated, even with a universal outlet! We...

this is a small hotel in a lovely little street in the centre of historic Rome,a short walk away from all the best spots, piazza del popolo, via condotti, piazza di spagna, trevi fountain etc. I suppose it must have been the hotel for the portuguese community as it is right next a magnificent baroque church called Chiesa dei Portoghesi. This...

We stayed at Hotel Portoghesi February 13-16, 2015 and loved it. The hotel is nice, conveniently located and the staff was exceptional. Breakfast was included and it was very good. We walked to many locations including the stop for tour buses. The front desk staff helped us with transportation and suggestions of where to eat, shop etc.

We spent 2 nights at this small hotel in October. The room was small but very comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location, near the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. It is on a charming street next to an excellent restaurant called Lagana. The breakfast is very good and served on a rooftop location with pleasant views of old...

The Hotel Portoghesi was fabulous. It was perfectly located. We stayed there in December, 2014, just before Christmas. We (I am in my late 50's) walked to Vatican City, Trastevere, the Coliseum, and everywhere else we wanted to see. Never once did we think we would need to take public transportation or a taxi, except for our trip to the...

Starting with the emails for booking and related matters, it was evident that staff were very helpful and polite. That continued throughout our stay with everyone working in the hotel. Our room was small, well decorated and furnished, pleasant and comfortable, and cleaned well daily. We caught a great deal by booking a week beginning with the "low" season in...

This hotel is worth staying in for the location alone. Otherwise it is pretty ordinary. Service was okay. I got fussed at twice for forgetting to leave my key at the desk. Still don't know what the big deal was. Also be aware that right next door is an old church with a famous organ. It is so famous that...

The Hotel Portoghesi has old world charm and is a wonderful location within walking distances of most of the major sights of Rome. It has hospitable staff, a good breakfast, and is both clean and economical. For those who like to run, it is only about a two minute jog to the Tiber River walking trails and another nice run,...
