I was lucky enough to stay here in May 2021 as the COVID restrictions started to ease. First, the family running the residence (which has been with them for 200 years they told me) is super friendly and very helpful. It was my first time in Rome and they let me check in very early, and were flexible when I had to leave as well. They helped with booking different tourist tickets and with transport to the airport at the end. Second, the location is the best posible that I can imagine. You can walk to basically every major tourist site in central Rome, including the Colosseum, Forum, Palatine, Pantheon, most of the major Basilicas outside of the Vatican, all the big museums, within 10-15 minutes. It's less than 10 minute walk to metro which can get you to other places as well. Third, the residence itself is very well maintained with bright, airy rooms that are quite comfortable. I stayed in the "Suite" on 4th floor solo and it was really nice, almost luxurious by myself. The roof deck where you can have breakfast and drinks in the evening is really nice with a perfect viewing facing west towards the sunset. A+++ stay there -- kudos!

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here for 4 nights recent after seeing the good reviews, and also based on the location. Everything about the stay was fantastic. When we arrive we were met by Gianluca who showed us to the our room and then explained about our stay. We then headed to the roof terrace where he pointed out areas of interest and sights that we should visit while marking them out on a map. Very handy. The accommodation itself seems very traditionally decorated. The room was very spacious, the bed was really comfy, and the shower was really good. There were also plenty of power outlets. The location is fantastic, just along from the coliseum, and just across from the Roman forum. The view from the roof terrace is amazing, and I would highly recommend spending some time up there for sunset with a little aperitif. Weather permitted breakfast was also served up on the roof and was a nice way to start the day. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and will definitely stay again when back in Rome.

Due to the pandemic,an opportunity existed to see both Rome and Venice with near to No tourists.l spend quiet a bit of time looking around for a “Room with a view “on the usual channels . At the last moment Residenza Marietta was recommended via friends who live in room.  Location great, close to important sites, and lots of restaurants a just a few minutes away. The building itself is Old School,we love Old School, but it ticks all the boxes , extremely quite , we had the pleasure of staying in 2 different rooms, we were move to the back of the building for our last  night,to a room with a view over the rooftops of Old  Rome, and lastly the very helpful charming staff that made our stay more than comfortable.

Life is too short and the world is too big to spend a second time at the same place/hotel - except for this one!!! I would a 100% stay here again while in Rome, because I simply haven't found anything like that. It's absolutely gorgeous and exceeded our expectations. The VIEW is the best in town, because it made us feel like we travelled back in time to ancient Rome. So unique! The host and the staff were super friendly too and made everything easy and comfortable for us. 10/10!!!

This was my second time back to Residenza Maritti and Gianluca and Pier are like close friends or family. There is nothing I can say that does justice to this charming and beautiful hotel that is more like a home. The rooms are clean and spacious and beautifully decorated, the location can not be topped - right in the heart of the monti ruins, walking distance from everywhere you want to go, and the level of service and friendliness is exceptional. I was very impressed at how well they have coped in the current environment - breakfast is served upstairs on the amazing roof terrace under an umbrella and they have arranged for dinner to be served up there too from a restaurant nearby (which always had great food anyway - now you have a view too). I could spend hours on that roof terrace watching the sun set over a glass of wine after a busy day. We will come back, and we will see you again. You know and I know! Thank you for everything and for making the trip so memorable even in these difficult times. There is only one place to stay for me in Rome and that is here.

Dear, thank you for this splendid review. Let us say that the pleasure was really ours. As we start the Residenza we hoped to be able to make some things different way as most of our competitors do. It's not the efficiency, which makes us human and our life worth living. It's our ability to communicate, personal touch, joy of exchanging views. So we decided to make it just the way we like it the most. The times they are changing and we can do more and more things online in efficient but unpersonal way but It's not the world we love. We don't consider it customer service, it's just the way we want to stay because this way we are sourrounded by happy people and this makes us happy. See you soon. Max&Gianluca&Pierfrancesco
