Our expectations for the Grand Olympic were tempered by many of the TA reviews I read before booking-for The Grand Olympic Hotel is not Grand and certainly not Olympic. The common areas and the rooms have clearly seen much better days but everything seemed clean. Our main level room was tight in the European manner-but the bathroom was large enough...

Great location very close to the Vatican. Breakfast was not great. There was one server doing it all. The coffe, as in many Italian hotels, was u drinkable. You had to get cappuccino, and the wait was long. The desk staff was very helpful and accommodating. The king bed was really two singles put together and I spent my nights in...

Great location, old hotel needs makeover. Breakfast ok .cannot cater for large number of people at breakfast. Staff friendly. Stayed 7 nights, had to pay 8 4 euros tax. Would stay again only if it gets a revamp.

We stayed there for 3 days in July 2014 ...A/C in the room worked fine . decent breakfast ,considering you're in in Europe (delicious croissants and you could ask the waiter to make you a nice cappuccino , or espresso , aside from the usual coffee )..But the location is the best you could ever get - 2 steps away...

Do not expect much from this "hotel." I am not sure where they got their 4 star rating from. Our 1st room was hot and we had to move rooms because the thermostat was broken. The 2nd room was clean. The bathroom tiles had cracks, the stool in the bathroom was broken and the shower curtain had cigarettes burns. The...

The hotel has the charme of the times in the past, front desk unorganized in invoicing the tourist tax. The rooms itself are very small, individuell. Our bath had almost the same size as the room itself. The breakfast was ok, the choices could be better. The location is great only a few minutes by foot to the Vatican and...

This is an old hotel with very massive ans old furniture. The rooms are averagebut the breakfast room is very small for the amount of visitors.Nothing special except that it is very located in the center of Rome. The price is high so you have to book when they have specials

After reading some terrible reviews of the Grand Olympic after our booking we were terrified of what we may find however we were pleasantly surprised. It is in no way a 4* hotel, more like a 2-3* hotel however practical, in an amazing location and with a clean and quiet place to sleep and recover from a day of walking...

The staff was very helpful. The hotel is a bit older, but everything was very clean, and the view from the room was great. The wifi was terrible in the room, but worked fine in the lobby where there was comfortable seating. The location was convenient to many of the famous sights, and public transportation was very near and accessible...

Really small dank rooms that are unimpressive on any budget. No decor, no outlets, hard small beds. The wifi is beyond spotty. The lobby is ok and the halls are so so. The location is nice enough as you are next to the Vatican. Bottom line don't expect much.

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
