My husband & I stayed here June 12, 2014 the day before our cruise. We arrived at the hotel around 11:00 am and the room was not ready. We had to sit in the lobby with all the other guest and wait. The lobby is nice & decorated elegantly. While waiting for the room we had the lunch buffet in...

Stayed here while on tour of Italy. Good location from which to explore Rome. Rooms are large and service was fairly good, although occasionally difficult to get through to the desk and concierge, and check in and out wee very, very slow, even for an Italian hotel. Not quite as nice as the Westin Excelsior in Florence, but a grand...

I've stayed at the Westin Excelsior several times in recent weeks, and I must say I'm quite disappointed along several dimensions. The rooms in themselves are OK, even if they always are a bit too humid and with no electrical outlets near the bed. The bathrooms are spacious, but with a limited set of toiletries. What truly bothers me is...

Dear Tripadvisor Thank you for your review I apologize for not having met all your expectations. WIFI is free in the public areas and for a fee in the guest rooms unless you a are SPG Gold or Platinum who have it as an amenity. Room service is indeed till 11.00pm so I will look into this. I will also...

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for three days in June. Lovely hotel, the room was amazing and very luxurious. Super comfortable king sized bed, huge bathroom with double sinks, mini bar, and juliet balcony with a nice 3rd floor view of the neighborhood. Nice details like crown molding everywhere. The only hotel I've ever stayed in that...

I am a Starwood member, stay over 150 nights a year in 4/5 star hotels worldwide and over 15 nights annually in Italy. From the Excelsior's rooms being unavailable on arrival mid-afternoon, to unfriendly, unhelpful and non-English speaking staff throughout, to IT systems that simply don't work (cashiers tills went down, I was twice locked out of my room in...

This is the perfect classic hotel in Rome. The location is outstanding, the hotel is extraordinarily well-maintained, and the staff is impeccable. Our room was well laid out with the biggest bathroom we've ever had in a European hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or courteous. As a matter of fact, when my wife had a medical emergency,...

This hotel has the largest rooms that I've ever seen in Europe. The décor is beautiful. The concierge was fantastic. The restaurant and bar were wonderful. I can't rave enough about it. It was centrally located, and a short walk to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps.

Nice old school hotel, with grand rooms and reception area. The receptionist at check in was excellent - informative and efficient. The room was comfortable and very spacious. However, the overall impression was slightly spoiled by gangs of tourists in flip flops and loud braying voices, calling to each other across the lobby, restaurant and lounges. But I guess that...

This is one of the few 5-star Westins in the Starwood family. The rooms are pretty spacious and of course the bed is comfortable. Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
